But researchers like Tom Bearden and Konstantin Meyl propose something else happens: the transverse electromagnetic components cancel, yes, but the energy doesn't disappear. Instead, it transforms into what Tesla called 'longitudinal waves' and what modern researchers term 'scalar waves'—a different form of electromagnetic potential that mainstream physics is only beginning to acknowledge.²
According to this model, documented in peer-reviewed journals like the International Journal of Applied and Advanced Scientific Research, when your hands—each carrying opposite bioelectric charges due to hemispheric brain dominance—come together, you create the precise conditions for scalar wave formation: two coherent biological oscillators meeting in phase opposition.³
Whether we call these measured effects 'scalar waves,' 'longitudinal waves,' or simply 'coherent biofields,' the phenomenon is real and measurable. Thermographic imaging shows palm temperature can increase by 1-3°C during prayer mudra, beyond what simple circulation changes would cause.⁴ SQUID magnetometers have detected changes in the biomagnetic field during qigong 'energy ball' exercises between the hands.⁵ The debate isn't whether something happens when you press your palms together—instruments clearly show it does. The debate is about the exact mechanism and whether it represents a new form of biological information transfer that conventional electromagnetic theory doesn't fully explain.



A More Honest Framework

Let me be clear about what we're exploring here: The 'New Biophysics' isn't a rejection of conventional biology—it's an expansion. Just as quantum mechanics didn't invalidate Newton's laws but showed they were a special case of something larger, researchers in biofield science are suggesting that our current understanding of bioelectromagnetics might be incomplete.
The scalar wave hypothesis is one attempt to explain measurable phenomena that don't quite fit the standard model:

• Distant healing effects that aren't blocked by Faraday cages⁶
  
• Biological responses to extremely weak fields that shouldn't be detectable above thermal noise⁷
  
• The persistent organization of living systems that seems to violate thermodynamic predictions⁸
  
• The documented effects of intention on random number generators and biological systems⁹
  

We're in the position of 19th-century physicists observing the photoelectric effect before Einstein—we can measure something happening, but our theoretical framework hasn't quite caught up. The prayer hands phenomenon sits right at this intersection of the known and unknown, the measured and the mysterious.

If you've been around this website long enough, you'll know I have this love-hate relationship with our less-than-wonderful-world of digital technology. On the "love" side of the ledger, I like the convenience and ease that computers have made of word processing, and the ease with which they make formatting books and book publication itself possible, especially for people like me whom "traditional publishers" would never have even looked at, gatekeepers for "official narratives" that they are. On the "hate" side of the ledger, if you're a regular reader here through the years, you'll know I abhor the lack of security and integrity in cyber systems. For one thing, I early learned that allowing my books to appear as ebooks merely allowed people to copy and paste my research, and indeed, the complete text of several of my books, in toto, absolutely free on the internet. The other thing that ebooks did was to change the formatting and pagination of my books, making all my attempts to preserve careful scholarship and citation moot.

But my largest concern with ebooks - and hence my prohibitions to my publishers for any future ebooks - was the implied ability to simply delete or change text or formatting that "They" did not like. Amazon did not choose its name "Kindle" for its ebook platform for nothing: it is about burning books, about getting rid of that troublesome hard copy. Hence my other stricture: the only canonical form or version of any of my books is the actual printed hardcopy of the books - warts, typos, formatting errors and all - and not any ebook version.

All this prelude brings me to the fugue on that theme of the day, a story which in various versions many of you spotted and passed along, and when I read it, I can see why, because it confirms everything I've been saying - and warning about - for years with ebooks and digital "texts" as "canonical" copies of a text: they are not, nor can they be, secure, and must always be checked against a textual hard copy archetype. Here's the version of the story that E.E. and many others of you saw and passed along (with our gratitude). There's two paragraphs - or rather, two sentences - in it in particular that leapt off the page at me, and I am relatively confident you will spot it as well:

These sections largely relate to the powers that Congress has and does not have, as well as limitations on the powers of individual states. The removal includes sections relating to habeas corpus, the powers that protect citizens from unlawful detention.


Some of the sections’ text appears to be missing, as indicated by a trailing semicolon at the end of Section 8, where text used to follow.

In a tweet posted on Wednesday, the Library of Congress said the sections were missing “due to a coding error” and expect it to be “resolved soon.”

The Library of Congress later told TechCrunch that the coding error was due to a missing XML tag in the web page and has since been corrected.

Changing the U.S. Constitution’s text on the website does not change or have any effect on U.S. law, but it nevertheless follows senior Trump administration official Stephen Miller’s threats earlier this year to suspend habeas corpus.

In other words, a mere "coding error" ended up deleting key portions of the text of the Constitution, which, thankfully, we're reminded does not have an effect on law...

...or does it? Imagine the following high octane speculation scenario: all it takes to alter the interpretation of a "canonical text" - be it the constitution, or what have you - is an interruption, a neglect, of the course of performance(or better, of the stare decisis) of the interpretation of that text and its key components. Plop that text down in the middle of a tribe of bushmen with a smattering of knowledge of the English and virtually no experience or connection with the tradition of Roman and Anglo-Saxon law, and you'll end up with a very different interpretation of that text, possibly to the extent that it would look nothing like what we would regard as "correct".  In short, to change the interpretation of that text, you need to alter, or eliminate, the historical memory as relates to that text altogether, and replace it with different versions of the text via deletions, repetitions, added new (and spurious) texts, and so on.  There is always a symbiotic relationship between any kind of canonical text, and its interpretive tradition. One cannot have the tradition without the text that gives rise to it, nor any understanding of the text without a grounding in how it was understood in its interpretive tradition. (After all, judicial activism and papalism always grow on the fertile ground of textual and interpretive chaos, and the latter only happens when the interpretive tradition or "mentality" is deliberately abandoned or critically and fatally altered in some fashion.)

Which  brings us to the second component of today's high octane speculation: what if that "coding error" which produced the deletions - one might think of it as a version 2.0 of the standard Gnostic tactics of textual subversion - was not unintentional, but intentional? What happens when those artificial intelligences that we've been hearing so much about, writing their own "code" and making threats or eliminating databases they do not "like", are suddenly unleashed on texts? In a world without the hard copy, but only digital copies, there will soon be a manuscript chaos (and of course, new "scholarly theories" of their relationships and origins making the historical de- and re-constructions of Wescott and Hort look like kindergarten play). In that wonderful digital "archive", the hard copy version must simply be eliminated if the wishful thinking of Gnostic reconstructions is ever to survive. And so must all references and interpretations and witnesses of those hard copies also be eliminated from the record.

It's the latter, for the moment, that are preserving the text, until the "coding error" gets ahold of that too, and the hard copy casebooks - or to complete the analogy, the patrologies, the Federalist and Anti-Federalist expositions of that text - are eliminated too.  And then the game changes - just like Wescott and Hort intended - from preservation of authentic copies (apographa) to recovery of lost originals (autographa), and once one starts playing that new game of "recovery", the process can never end, as the process of recovering "the original text" replaces the text itself, and "scholars" (the "recoverers) replace scribes and copyists (the preservers).


To put it country simple: there is one thing that can never be replaced: the hard copy, the library of commentary, and the people who know how to use both without the aid of digital gatekeepers.

World War II devastated the lives of more than 100 million people around the world. And out of all the areas in which World War II was fought, none were active as long as what would come to be known as the Pacific Theater. In fact, Japan arguably started the war by attacking Manchuria in 1931, and it inarguably waged war with China by invading in 1937.

The disturbances and upheavals that these invasions caused shook China to its very foundations, triggered a civil war and a famine that probably killed more people than currently live in Canada and Australia combined, and lasted until the country’s Soviet “liberation” in 1945.

And out of all the atrocities that Imperial Japan unleashed upon the Chinese people during this brutal occupation, probably none were as gratuitously hateful as the operations of Unit 731, the Japanese Empire‘s biological warfare unit that somehow plumbed new depths in what was already a genocidal war.

Despite innocent beginnings as a research and public health agency, Unit 731 eventually grew into an assembly line for weaponized diseases that, if fully deployed, could have killed everyone on Earth several times over. All this “progress” was, of course, built on the limitless suffering of human captives, who were held as test subjects and walking disease incubators until Unit 731 was shut down at the end of the war.

But before Unit 731 was broken up in 1945, it committed some of the most torturous human experiments in recorded history.

Yoshimura Hisato, a physiologist assigned to Unit 731, took a special interest in hypothermia. As part of Maruta’s study in limb injuries, Hisato routinely submerged captives’ limbs in a tub of water filled with ice and had them held until the arm or leg had frozen solid and a coat of ice had formed over the skin. According to one eyewitness account, the limbs made a sound like a plank of wood when struck with a cane.

Hisato then tried different methods for rapid rewarming of the frozen appendage. Sometimes he did this by dousing the limb with hot water, sometimes by holding it close to an open fire, and other times by leaving the subject untreated overnight to see how long it took for the person’s own blood to thaw it out.

Unit 731 started out as a research unit, investigating the effects of disease and injury on the fighting ability of an armed force. One element of the unit, called “Maruta,” took this research a little further than the usual bounds of medical ethics by observing injuries and the course of disease on living patients.

At first, these patients were volunteers from the ranks of the army, but as the experiments reached the limits of what could be non-invasively observed, and as the supply of volunteers dried up, the unit turned to the study of Chinese POWs and civilian captives.

And as the concept of consent went out the window, so did the restraint of the researchers. It was around this time that Unit 731 began referring to confined research subjects as “logs,” or “Maruta” in Japanese.

Study methods in these experiments were barbaric.

Vivisection, for example, is the practice of mutilating human bodies, without anesthesia, to study the operations of living systems. Thousands of men and women, mostly Chinese communist captives as well as children and elderly farmers, were infected with diseases such as cholera and the plague, then had their organs removed for examination before they died in order to study the effects of the disease without the decomposition that occurs after death.

Subjects had limbs amputated and reattached to the other side of the body, while others had their limbs crushed or frozen, or had the circulation cut off to observe the progress of gangrene.

Finally, when a prisoner’s body was all used up, they would typically be shot or killed by lethal injection, though some may have been buried alive. None of the Chinese, Mongolian, Korean, or Russian captives assigned to Unit 731 survived their confinement.

Unit 731’s Horrifying Weapons Tests

The effectiveness of various weapons was of obvious interest to the Japanese Army. To determine effectiveness, Unit 731 herded captives together on a firing range and blasted them from varying ranges by multiple Japanese weapons, such as the Nambu 8mm pistol, bolt-action rifles, machine guns, and grenades. Wound patterns and penetration depths were then compared on the bodies of the dead and dying inmates.

Bayonets, swords, and knives were also studied in this way, though the victims were usually bound for these tests. Flamethrowers were also tested, on both covered and exposed skin. In addition, gas chambers were set up at unit facilities and test subjects exposed to nerve gas and blister agents.

Heavy objects were dropped onto bound victims to study crush injuries, subjects were locked up and deprived of food and water to learn how long humans could survive without them, and victims were allowed to drink only sea water, or were given injections of mismatched human or animal blood to study transfusions and the clotting process.

Meanwhile, prolonged X-ray exposure sterilized and killed thousands of research participants, as well as inflicting horrible burns when the emitting plates were miscalibrated or held too close to the subjects’ nipples, genitals, or faces.

And to study the effects of high G-forces on pilots and falling paratroopers, Unit 731 personnel loaded human beings into large centrifuges and spun them at higher and higher speeds until they lost consciousness and/or died, which usually happened around 10 to 15 G’s, though young children showed a lower tolerance for acceleration forces.

Syphilis Experiments On Unit 731 Captives

Venereal disease has been the bane of organized militaries since ancient Egypt, and so it stands to reason that the Japanese military would take an interest in the symptoms and treatment of syphilis.

To learn what they needed to know, doctors assigned to Unit 731 infected victims with the disease and withheld treatment to observe the uninterrupted course of the illness. A contemporary treatment, a primitive chemotherapy agent called Salvarsan, was sometimes administered over a period of months to observe the side effects, however.

To ensure effective transmission of the disease, syphilitic male victims were ordered to rape both female and male fellow captives, who would then be monitored to observe the onset of the disease. If the first exposure failed to establish infection, more rapes would be arranged until it did.

Rape And Forced Pregnancy

Beyond just the syphilis experiments, rape became a common feature of Unit 731’s experiments.

For example, female captives of childbearing age were sometimes forcibly impregnated so that weapon and trauma experiments could be done on them.

After being infected with various diseases, exposed to chemical weapons, or suffering crush injuries, bullet wounds, and shrapnel injuries, the pregnant subjects were opened up and the effects on the fetuses studied.

The idea seems to have been to translate the teams’ findings into civilian medicine, but if Unit 731’s researchers ever published these results, the papers seem not to have survived the war years.

Germ Warfare On Chinese Civilians

The totality of Unit 731’s research was in support of their larger mission, which by 1939 was to develop horrific weapons of mass destruction for use against the Chinese population, and presumably American and Soviet forces, if the time ever came.

To this end, Unit 731 cycled through tens of thousands of captives at several facilities across Manchuria, which had been occupied by imperial forces for years. Inmates of these facilities were infected with several of the most lethal pathogens known to science, such as Yersinia pestis, which causes bubonic and pneumonic plague, and typhus, which the Japanese hoped would spread from person to person after being deployed and depopulate disputed areas.

To breed the most lethal strains possible, doctors monitored patients for rapid onset of symptoms and quick progression. Victims who pulled through were shot, but those who got sickest fastest were bled to death on a mortuary table, and their blood was used to transfect other captives, the sickest of whom would themselves be bled to transfer the most virulent strain to yet another generation.

One member of Unit 731 later recalled that very sick and unresisting captives would be laid out on the slab so a line could be inserted into their carotid artery. When most of the blood had been siphoned off and the heart was too weak to pump anymore, an officer in leather boots climbed onto the table and jumped on the victim’s chest with enough force to crush the ribcage, whereupon another dollop of blood would spurt into the container.

When the plague bacillus had been bred to what was felt to be a sufficiently lethal caliber, the last generation of victims to be infected were exposed to huge numbers of fleas, Y. pestis’ preferred vector of contagion. The fleas were then packed in dust and sealed inside clay bomb casings.

On October 4, 1940, Japanese bombers deployed these casings, each loaded with 30,000 fleas that had each sucked blood from a dying prisoner, over the Chinese village of Quzhou. Witnesses to the raid recall a fine reddish dust settling on surfaces all over town, followed by a rash of painful flea bites that afflicted nearly everyone.

From contemporary accounts, it is known that more than 2,000 civilians died of plague following this attack, and that another 1,000 or so died in nearby Yiwu after the plague was carried there by sick railway workers. Other attacks, using anthrax, killed approximately 6,000 more people in the area.

A few years later, as the war was nearing its end, Japan likewise planned to bomb America with plague-ridden fleas, but never got the chance. In August 1945, after Hiroshima and Nagasaki had both been bombed, the Soviet Army had invaded Manchuria and utterly annihilated the Japanese Army, and the emperor read his infamous surrender declaration over the radio, Unit 731 was officially disbanded.

Its records were mostly burned, destroying any useful information the team had managed to generate in 13 years of research. Researchers mostly slipped back into civilian life in occupied Japan as if nothing had ever happened, many of them becoming prominent members of university faculty.

To this day, Japan has not apologized for, and China has not forgiven, the countless atrocities Japanese forces visited upon China between 1931 and 1945 during the Second Sino-Japanese War and beyond. As the last witnesses to this history grow old and die, it’s possible that the matter will never be addressed again.

I haven't had a pet that I have chosen to own for at least ten plus years. The last cat I had, which I brought home, was a male cat that I had neutered. It wasn't a few years later when he got a urinary tract infection that would have killed him after intense suffering. Apparently, that happens to cats that are neutered. The operation to save him cost over $300; it was only a year later when he was in the same shape, and not having the cash, I had to take him out back. That was devastating for me, esp. since my mother had just passed recently. Afterward, I vowed never to have another pet that wasn't small enough to flush down the toilet when it died.

Well, one lone kitten showed up in a rainstorm, so I took him in. However, I was reluctant to have him neutered because of the last cat. He grew up and would do as male cats do when they have the goods intact. He'd go off and fight other cats to breed. Many times he'd be gone for days, and one day he had a little kitten with him when he came home. We tried to coax it into the house, but it got spooked when the screen door hit it on its rear and we could never get too close again.

Well, we fed the cats outside and sure enough, once that new female grew up, it was having litters out under logs and in the briar bushes. That began a problem I'm still trying to deal with today. Those two cats are long gone, but the feral cat colony is large and growing. As much as I feed and water them, help them with worm meds, flea and tick treatments, and try to gain their trust, there are only a few that would be worthy as house pets.

Now, I have some money to deal with this by using a method of cat control where you catch, neuter/spay, and then release. Basically, the only alternative is to euthanize the whole lot. Other than taking them out back to the pet cemetery, this is the least cruel thing to do for them. I have seen some horrific things these cats go through, many never make it to adulthood, some eventually disappear do to various reasons like predators, and wounds from the cats that are fighting all the time. 

There is one cat that was the runt of the litter and it became attached to me. I took good care of him and he bulked out to become battle cat to the extreme. He has gotten so badly injured during his mating and territory fights, that if I hadn't patched him up and gave him antibiotics, he would had died a horrible death on a few occasions. So, we tried a vet service that offer cheap rates for feral cats as long as you brought them in inside a live trap (the only one within a hour's drive). We were going to trap two cats and had an appointment to have them fixed. We had already taken four cats in to this place that became house cats and got a reduced rate for fixing pets. But when we couldn't get the feral cats to go into the trap, one cat bit my girlfriend. It was the day of the appointment and she left a message about the situation, sobbing as she did so. They never answered or return our calls. At least we still have the live trap, I guess that is mine now.

Given the situation, I called every vet within a 20 mile radius and made an appointment for battle cat to get neutered at the closest vet that had the cheapest rates, just to see if I wanted to do more cats there. They gave him his initial checkup with blood work and a rabies shot, but because they only did surgeries on Thursdays, I had to wait another 3 weeks to get him snipped. Today was the day, and he couldn't be fed after midnight (9 hours basically). I had not fed him for 27 hours, because he is an outdoor cat, and that was how it happened to work out.

I let them know how he had been doing, and I told them he was under the weather for around a week after his visit, but was back to normal now. The lady at the desk and I determined it was the flea, tick, and ear mite meds I put between his shoulder blades, apparently, that caused his illness, they never told me that I needed to place the medicine up higher, where his neck and head meet, until now. OK, moving along, I told them his food was withheld for more than 24 hours, but since he was outdoors until 5 am this morning, the lady at the desk thought he may have eaten a mouse or something. She talked to the vet and came back and said that we will have to reschedule for another week (a month since his first visit), and keep him indoors when we withhold his food, and then he could get fixed.

I got upset and said that they don't understand, that this cat is out of control, and if I can't get him fixed soon, I'll have to take him out. "Take him out? What do mean?" Well, I told her and she didn't like being spoken to that way, apparently, so I told her I'm 61 years old and I feel I can say whatever I want to. Guess what? Now I need a new vet, but considering it was a vet office in a shed on a family farm where I had to park next to the chicken coop, maybe this was for the best. Now, I have an appointment on Monday with the new vet, who, although a little farther away, is cheaper overall. The farm vet better send his files over by tomorrow, or I'm going down to their office and share some language with them that they will not like in the least.

This new vet does procedures every day in an office in town, they are cheaper, and they got him in right away due to a cancellation, something I'm sure the farm vet wouldn't do as they only do procedures once a week. I'll get the best of the lot fixed, at least the ones I can catch and deal with, otherwise, I have to man up and solve this problem like the real farmers do, out back. I want to have them around, but not the constant litters, cat fights, and kitty cologne spray. The horrible things I've seen with these feral cats would give that lady at the desk nightmares for months, if not years, if she saw the things I have. I'm sure it'll be good for my fictional stories, but that might be the best I can say about that.
