Bigfoot is something I have never believed in. I always thought it was the most absurd thing I had ever heard. I thought people who believed in Bigfoot were total nutjobs.

That is, up until recently. 

The last 4 or 5 years have been a whirlwind of learning. I've dove into so many topics, and have learned so much about what all has actually been going on in the science community, and all the weird immoral unethical experiments that went on, and so my eyes have been opened to so many possibilities I never would have considered, that I am now convinced that even Bigfoot is a strong possibility of being real.

I came up with a theory of my own. I'm sure it's been done before, but I decided I'm bored, and feel like writing, so here goes.

The old 80's movie "Harry and the Hendersons" was on the other day, and I sat and watched it for that ol nostalgic feeling I get from these old movies. Halfway through the film I wondered if I was actually seeing some sort of truth in this movie.

Plum Island came to mind...

I wondered if, in trying to create some sort of "super soldier" 'animal-human hybrid,' and the genetically crossed a bear, gorilla and a man (maybe just a bear and a man) and instead of getting this fierce fighting carnivore, they end up with this docile loving gentle vegetarian Bigfoot instead?

Then they get loose...

Now we have them living up in those extremely remote mountains.

What if Bigfoot was an experiment gone wrong? Instead of getting the fierce fighting machine they end up with "Harry and the Hendersons Bigfoot"  instead?


I'm bored, have fun with it. I'm assuming this is already a theory. If so, it's mine now as well. After everything my eyes have been opened to recently, I would not doubt it if this were all the case when it comes to Bigfoot.

I once had a friend who went to the Baltic Defence College in Tartu, Estonia. He would get a blank look on his face, stare into the distance, and say with a haunting German accent: "The Balts ... they have the most beautiful women." I never made it to that part of the world so had to take his word for it.

So good are the opportunities and so high is the level of optimism that Lithuania topped this year’s World Happiness Report rankings for the under-30s. The country’s gen-Zers and millennials rated themselves 7.76 out of 10 on the happiness scale, miles ahead of the UK and the US, at 32nd and 62nd respectively. While the report sounded alarm bells about young people’s welfare in the west, Lithuania’s twentysomethings could set to work meme-ifying and TikTokking about the confirmation that they had it pretty good.

“I actually like it here,” says Jurkuvenaite’s friend Gantas Bendikas almost apologetically. The 23-year-old is about to graduate with no debt and, by his own admission, no anxieties about the labour market. “Yes, there are problems, but there are problems everywhere,” he says. “I think a lot of young people here are quite patriotic. It feels, at least in Vilnius, like we live good lives compared to other European countries.”

Granted, it is not the most exciting place in the world: Jurkuvenaite complains that it “can be a little boring” and Bendikas says he is keen to see other countries before ultimately settling down here. The Vilnius tourist board is jocularly self-aware in branding the country “the G-spot of Europe” because “nobody knows where it is”. (A 2019 survey found that only 5% of Britons knew more than the Lithuanian capital’s name and approximate location.) But against a backdrop of general election mudslinging, pervasive student debt and a housing crisis in the UK, I will take boring. Drinking a decent cup of coffee in the sun and eating a flaky pastry that didn’t cost an hour’s work on minimum wage – yes, this will do.

Jurkuvenaite and Bendikas’s Lithuania is vastly different from the one their parents grew up in. The former Soviet country’s GDP per capita has more than quadrupled in their lifetimes. Its burgeoning tech sector counts the “unicorns” Vinted and Nord Security among its exports, and last year, average gross earnings in the country increased by 12.6%. University is free for most students and 57% of the population have tertiary education (the EU average is 43%). As Karolina Motiejūnaitė, a 23-year-old marketer, puts it: “We were all born in free Lithuania. We don’t know anything else.”

Lithuania’s newly cemented status as young people’s capital of the world may have come as a slight surprise to the people who live there (“Well, they didn’t ask me or my friends” is a common retort on my visit), but it didn’t to the researchers behind the report, who have been watching the Baltic countries inch their way up the rankings since they began collecting the data.

“More or less over the whole time of the World Happiness Report there’s been a narrowing of the gap between eastern and western Europe in terms of their average life satisfaction,” explains Prof John Helliwell, a founding editor of the annual study, which measures wellbeing in 140 nations and is coordinated by Oxford University’s Wellbeing Research Centre, Gallup and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network. “As that gap has narrowed, it’s now the case that the young are significantly happier in central and eastern Europe than the older generation.”

Across town at the former Lukiškės prison, a rambling 1905 jail being transformed into a compound of artists’ studios and concert venues, it isn’t hard to see why. “When I talk to friends in other places – Paris, Tokyo, London – I realise how lucky I am to have my own space,” says 28-year-old artist Jolita Vaitkutė, the light pouring in from the high windows of her third-floor studio and refracting across her face. In the suntrap courtyard below, twenty- and thirtysomethings in oversized T-shirts drink pints between the barbed-wire-topped walls.

“I choose to be here because I like it here,” she says. “I don’t have to do work that I don’t want to do and I don’t have to work in an office.” Studios in the building, which was used to shoot the fourth season of the Netflix series Stranger Things, rent for between €100 and €500 a month (£85-£425), according to Martynas Butkevičius, whose music agency won the public tender to transform it into a cultural venue. Rents in the country are generally low compared with other European countries – though there was a 144% increase between 2010 and 2022, the second highest in the EU after Estonia.


Despite this, says film-maker Marija Kavtaradzė, it still feels possible to carve out the career that you want in the capital. “I would say that every person who works well can live well here,” says the 33-year-old, who is just releasing her second feature, Slow. “Of course, if you are a creative and you work in culture instead of a startup, you will make less money – that’s a fact. But there is this feeling that you can still make it here.”

Kavtaradzė is well placed to speak about life for young people in post-Soviet Lithuania. Her 2014 short I’m Twenty Something encapsulates perfectly the excruciating ordeal of having so many doors open to you but not knowing which one to walk through. It’s a privilege, she says, that her parents’ generation could only have dreamed of.

“What makes us unique is that we saw the country change really quickly,” she adds. “In my generation we all grew up really similarly, economically – like, I don’t have friends who were rich growing up. So I think that also, in some sense, gives us the mindset that we can do anything.”

I am here in the last days of second-round voting in the country’s presidential elections. Polls will open for the European parliamentary elections in just a couple of weeks. Agnė Urbontaitytė, 20, who is smoking in one of the postcard-perfect courtyards of Vilnius University, is going to vote after her Lithuanian philology class. “We’re very political,” she says of her peers. (Voter turnout in the last European parliamentary election in 2019 was 53.48% in Lithuania, above the total EU figure of 50.66%.) She declines to tell me who she is voting for, but says the war in Ukraine is on most people’s minds. “We’re not as happy as people think we are!” she jokes, before reeling off a list of reasons she “loves Lithuania” – including the green space and the “new, interesting people” that reside in the capital.

Antanas Kairys, a psychology professor at Vilnius University’s faculty of philosophy, cites the political situation as one of the main reasons for young people’s wellbeing. “Youth in Lithuania have a lot of possibilities now,” he says. Post-independence, “the change is drastic – both in terms of the economic situation and everyday life. I think one reason why young people rank so highly in this report is because they haven’t experienced the reality of the Soviet Union. They know it only from the stories of their parents and grandparents.”

The war in Ukraine threatens to upend the stability Lithuania has worked to achieve over the past 34 years. Young people are plagued by anxiety about what might happen if, as Motiejūnaitė puts it, “this war goes to the wrong side”.

“We grew up with this fear inside us that everything nice that we have here could be taken away in a second,” she says. “It feels like people abroad are forgetting that there is a war happening in Ukraine, and it’s worrying.” Ukraine fatigue may have taken hold in some parts of the west, but for Lithuanians the threat of Russia still looms large. As Karolis Pilypas, the 30-year-old Vilnius-raised photographer accompanying me on my trip, says drily: “One day you’re at home watching Love Is Blind and the next you’re being told by the government to pack an emergency bag.” (Lithuania’s ministry of the interior and fire and rescue department launched a campaign last February advising citizens what to pack in case disaster strikes.) “The anxiety is sort of everywhere,” Kavtaradzė agrees.

There is also the conundrum of the country’s suicide rate – which was the highest in the EU in 2020, at 21.3 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. “For older people, mental health is still a taboo topic,” says 19-year-old Cinny, a student at the university’s faculty of philosophy. “My mother, for example, still doesn’t believe that mental health is a problem in Lithuania.” Kairys reckons it’s a Soviet hangover: “There is less stigma among young people about mental health, but that stigma remains among the older generation. I think it’s partially related to the reality of the Soviet Union, where mental health services were used for political reasons – to imprison political opponents, for example.”

If Lithuania is the happiest place in the world for young people, then I’d put money on it that the White Bridge skate park on the banks of the Neris River is the happiest place in Lithuania. As a parent of a young child remarks when I tell them this is next on my itinerary: “If the guys you speak to over there aren’t happy, then nobody is.” The teenagers and twentysomethings sunbathing by the volleyball courts are happy to report that they’re pretty content.

“I would rate the nightlife one of the best in Europe,” says 21-year-old software engineering student Daniil Švager through huge sunglasses that reflect the sky. He says, though, that he’d like a summer home in some far-flung place where he could escape Lithuania’s brutal winters. Like many of the people I spoke to, he and his friend Rokas Astrauskas thought the Happiness Report news was a joke when it emerged. All in all, though, they say they’re happy with their lives – especially now the evenings are getting longer and they can play volleyball six times a week.

Further up the river, as we walk towards a bustling courtyard bar, Pilypas points out the bare nails that protrude from the lamp-posts of the bridge we’re crossing. The Soviet-era statues mounted on them have recently been ripped down, he says. He shows me the hospital he was born in, which is being transformed into an expensive international school. When I remark on how green the city is, he shrugs: “It used to be greener.” More than three decades on from independence, Lithuania is shapeshifting, and it’s taking its young people with it.

As the light dwindles, the sky is pink and blue tie-dye; chatter spills from the open window of the bar out into the courtyard and the street. Conversation has the frenetic edge of a good night just beginning. IT worker Lukas Saženis, 29, is having a beer with some old colleagues outside. Is he the happiest person in the world? “Maybe not the happiest, but I think I’m relatively happy,” he allows. “I feel like we’re building towards something. We’re not stagnating. It’s easy to see how good we have it.”

What happens after we die?

This is the greatest mystery we have in my opinion. It is my greatest curiosity. I am naturally a curios person, and what actually happens once we pass through this life is the curiosity I am most excited to learn. There are so many different stories and beliefs here it is enough to make your head spin. This means we don't truly know.

Trying to picture the afterlife is an impossibility. I have one of the most childlike vivid imaginations I've ever known anyone to have. And yet, I cannot picture "Heaven" or "paradise" in my minds eye. We do not possess the knowledge of anything that "good" and pure. We know too much pain and suffering to be able to fathom what perfection is.

I happen to be someone who knows the scriptures. All of them. I have interviewed and dove deep into the different beliefs about the afterlife, heaven and hell. I know all of the theories surrounding what happens to us once we die. There are so many views within this topic it is impossible to know which is actually true and correct. This intrigues me even further.

With all of these different views and beliefs, and my own passionate curiosity, I am actually looking forward to the day I take that last breath, and when my spirit starts to slip out of this realm and into whatever comes next. I am ready to meet whatever is on the other side. I am ready to face my judgement, if that is what it takes. This thought does not frighten me. It doesn't scare me at all because I have learned love and mercy and compassion. I believe these to be the purpose of this life. To see evil, know the evil, dance with the evil, and then see for myself how this "evil" only destroys. It does not build up anything. It only tears things down. I reject evil. My spirit is clean.

I am Standing on all of this, pondering on what I consider to be "the greatest mystery of the universe" and finding out what happens to us once we pass through this life.


Now, this does not mean I am ready for my life to end. I am here until my time is up. I will make the best of this time and situation. But, I do have this childlike excitement about dying and seeing what comes next. I believe once that happens.......then I will be Truly Free, and that's when Life will truly begin.

This may seem morbid to most. But there is this peace, this joy, and a comfort i feel when I think about what happens next. 


I do believe some will go to a paradise and some will go somewhere else. There is a clear division of good and evil. 

But, how it actually plays out....no one knows for sure.

This is the ultimate question, and one we won't know until we pass on.

I will give my opinionon what will take place step by step as i believei see it.

My lights go out. I see a familiar pure white light. I know this light. It is my (our) Lord. He will greet me with His arms opened. I will finally get to hug my Heavenly Father. I will be at total peace. I am home now.

My family will be there.  All smiling, All youthful. They look different, but i know who they are. They are my loved ones who have already passed. Hugs and kisses all around.

I will be introduced the Heavenly hosts. The angels. My new brothers and sisters.

If this is before certain events, then we will wait in paradisefor things to be completed. We will dance and sing and glorify our Father, His Son, our Mother, and the Church (from the boof of shepherd of Hermes).


All the pain is gone. All the hurt. The weight of the world will be gone. I have a new body. A spiritual body. With cool new attributes. One of the first things i will probably choose to do with this new and improved Heavenly body-----is fly...


After that...who knows. Joy and Bliss until this freakshow called the world has run its course.

A new creation after some judgement,
but pretty much just transformedinto the garden of Eden. If im not already there. Its hard to know for sure with what we have, but after 10 years of a Holy Spirit/Word of God guiding me journey,  this is what i have come up with.

I grew up as a christen just like many sand people grow up as a Muslim. A product of the society you are raised in mostly.

I have lived in a Buddhist country for over 20 years and out of the three Buddhist seem to be more of live and let live safe society. I like the Buddhist idea of do unto others as you would have then do unto you; many parallels in the belief system.

True Buddhist do not believe in a creator God yet they pray to Buddha all the time especially come lottery time ! Yep if you are mean and cruel then your next life will be one of suffering and cruelty focused upon you. No you do not come back as a Cockroach although throughout history there have probably been many who deserved that fate.

Many religions control by fear and damnation ... I have known people who lived their whole lives thinking the rapture or the return of Jesus was coming anytime now or for sure in their lifetime. Since I am very old all those folks are buried and worm food for many years. If religion brings you peace and happiness then good for you...if you live your life in fear and dread I would suggest finding a new way to make yourself miserable..

Some religions are a destructive force which in the past and even today have been responsible for untold thousands of deaths and wars, all in the name of some silent unseen sky fairy which had mankind write what the god supposedly wanted the people to believe. Key words being "man writes what is to be believed" and then the man claims his hand was guided by some supreme god. Thousands of years of stifled growth and advancement due to some written words supposedly by a god who promises paradise after you are dead yet written by men who seek power or live in a controlled fantasy of their own creation..

Mess up and no virgins for you (a sigh of relief from the corner with the virgins) or spend all eternity in hell fire because he/she/it/ loves you but you messed up ! The religious factions preach and proclaim tolerance while in truth anyone who does not fall within their sects hierarchy are condemned to a fate worse than death.

Lets sacrifice some people to the God of the Aztec; some say they sacrificed 80,000 in one month, or hey burn someone at the stake because they pissed off the Catholic enforcers or someone declared them a witch... Behead or stone her because she was with a man not of her kin. etc etc etc

A society will always invent ways of maintaining order and preventing disruption of their accepted norm; an elite few seem to always want total control of the information the masses receive. Same as yesteryear and same as today.

The fog of every mystery is only blown away by knowledge...If knowledge is lacking then a belief in a godly higher power will suffice for those in fear of the unknown..

I have had this on my mind for a while. I'm just going to lay out a thought and let the collective play this out in theories. 

This, of course is purely for entertainment purposes, and so I have put it in the chit chat forum.

When I was looking at the MK-Ultra files I noticed that abuse was something they were looking at, along with everything from magic to hypnotism to drugs for mind control it always struck me odd that they would be looking at abuse as a path to mind control. 

Torturing people for information is as old as any method of extracting information. 

I'd like to open the floor to possibilities of what all they could have used abuse to achieve, and or learn.

If so, what did they learn, and how did they learn to use it, as well as, were these tactics successful and used in some way.


My question was, did they learn how to use abuse to weaken, say gen x? Could that have been something tested on that generation? I speak from not only my own experiences, but from being a good listener, and someone a lot of people just seem to open up to. I've heard so many stories of abuse. Every color of the rainbow of abuse. 

It's Almost as if abuse had been fine tuned, if you will.

I do know this. I not only dated a lot of females, but I also tended to have a lot of female friends. I would say, at least 50% of those females had been sexually abused. 

If I know of 50% because of them telling me their stories, and knowing not every person who is abused cones forward and tells others about there abuse, then those numbers are more than likely even higher.

In my experiences there were also mostly two types of mothers. Either overbearing helicopter strict mom, or the "let em do whatever they want" moms.

Mainly. In my experiences. People talk, and things were obvious. 

Funny thing is, you got the same two results from the two completely opposite moms.

Narcissism or Borderline personality disorder.

That is damn near 100% the cause and effect. (Not quite 100% There was a sweet spot if parenting that produced well adjusted people. Or people who need zero counseling, psych meds, Xanax, weed, etc etc etc to cope with daily life. Abuse is the number one factor when dealing with the issues mentioned in parentheses).


The numbers are there. (Also considering a ton of narcissistic people never seek treatment or even know they are a narcissist, so things go undocumented) You just have to look.

With all this, I had wondered if they had figured out a way to "groom" these types of parents (or parenting styles) to try and start the weakening of people process.  As well as the push to big pharma.

I'm asking, rogue-nation, does any of this sound like a possibility as to why they would have been looking at abuse as a form of "mind control." 

It's totally plausible that someone could deploy specific hypnotic/subliminal messages, say through a movie or song (low frequency) that could "influence" a person to be abusive. 


What do you think, RN? Could this be the reason for experimenting with abuse? Could they have figured out ways to weaponize abuse, and someone then deploy these measures?

I don't feel like I'm way off base here. But, what say you?
