Tired of watching the same old thing on a Friday, I dug around for a movie and found this. I remember when it came out and didn't give it much interest, even though Clint is a hell of an actor and director.

So I gave it a go.

Overall, it's what you expect from the tail end of his career, as far as what he's been doing.

Pretty much like the last few I saw, heavily weighted towards the characters and just overall good story telling. If you watched gran torino, it's not that far off.

It's heartwarming, it's a story of broken people, struggling to get back something they've lost, or never had.

Clint has this pattern down pat in his latter years, he plays the worn, broken and shut away character who finds purpose when there was no expectation or hope of finding anything ever again(hence the gran torino reference).

He's a washed up, injured, alcoholic cowboy who's former business partner asks him for a favor, find his long distance son in mexico and bring him home. The plot is obvious, the beauty is in the acting, scenes and emotion you feel as you join the cast on their journey.

I recommend it, if you have the patience for a slow, drawn out but ultimately rewarding journey. Moreso if you identify with Clints characters in these films(broken, shut away and given up on society).

A press event was held today at 11:00 a.m. to announce the unsealing of an indictment charging Robert Menendez, U.S. Senator from New Jersey, and his wife, Nadine Menendez, with bribery offenses in connection with their corrupt relationship with three New Jersey businessmen.

Sen. Bob Menendez will immediately step down from his role on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. This is a rule as part of the Senate Caucus. If you are under indictment, you cannot serve as the chair of a Committee.

Though he's being charged, Menendez can continue serving in the Senate. He is up for re-election in 2024.

Menendez was previously indicted on federal bribery charges in 2016. That case related to a wealthy Florida eye doctor and longtime friend who gave generous donations to Menendez and allegedly received benefits in return.

In 2012 was implicated in an underage prostitution scandal within the Dominican Republic, however. that may have been a smear campaign. Although, just about anything political coming out of New Jersey is unclean, even after repeated white wash cycles.

"We need a message to working-class Americans," he added. "Right now, they're still hurting in terms of gas prices, food prices, housing costs, utilities costs, and they don't feel like their wages are going up fast enough, and they feel like the very wealthy are getting too much of the rewards. That's what I heard on the picket lines."

The Biden campaign and White House aides, of course, do not believe Trump is "outmaneuvering" Biden. After all, Democrats almost always win union endorsements.

But as Politico noted, Trump won "many rank-and-file union members in 2016," and the White House — by canceling plans to send two top aides to Detroit — is certainly at odds with the unions. That tension is something Trump's campaign will try to exploit beginning this week to build on previous momentum with rank-and-file union workers.

Ahead of his visit, Trump is airing radio ads supporting the workers.

"All they've ever wanted is to compete fairly worldwide and get their fair share of the American dream," the ad says, according to the Times. "Donald Trump calls them great Americans and has always had their backs."

Not much has been disclosed on the crash of the F-35 last week. The pilot had to eject for presently unknown reasons. Since it is a single engine aircraft maybe it was just a simple engine failure and the inability to restart the aircraft. The F-35 is a computer controlled fly by wire (no electricity means no control and no fly) aircraft so an electrical fire with its lithium Ion battery could turn the thing into a lawn dart.
