I've authored a thread where we discussed things of a very dark nature. We took that discussion deep down the rabbit hole of thought, and it was a hard conversation, but one that I feel was necessary. But, I'd like to flip the script completely, and show the Light that is inside of me, that has guided me through this dark world. A world that is becoming more and more void of love. Soon, it will be in utter darkness, and things like love and compassion will be forgotten completely. 

First off I'd like to say, that loving people who agree with you is too easy. Loving the people in your church is too easy, even if you don't like them. Loving your family is required. 

Loving your enemies takes Christ like strength.

I've been wanting to present this especially to my elders. I've heard a particular rhetoric for far too long, and I'd like to address it. This discussion is mostly for those of Christian faith, but love does not require a religious order, so feel free to jump in.

I'd like to give a couple of examples to lay out my thoughts for you all. I'd like to share a couple of examples of what Loving, or not loving, your enemies might look like.

Imagine I'm an elderly man, living with my elderly wife. We have succeeded in life, have great memories, have built up a nice home and family, and most importantly have built up our faith in Christ God Almighty. Basically we are two elderly folks who have lived a good life, and know our souls are going to heaven when we die.

Me and my wife are sitting on the couch, watching Matlock, when there's a loud bang. A young man has just entered my home, and is going to rob us of our money and jewelry. I have many weapons in the home, so I have a choice.

I could kill this dude, or I can try and save him, or show him mercy. 

Hate will kill this young man in a heart beat. It would be easy to pull that trigger. I an well within my rights. But, am I prepared to take the life of a young, possibly misguided soul, over a few thousands bucks, or so?

If he kills me and my wife we go to heaven to be in paradise. 

If I kill this young man, who is just a teenager who got mixed up in drugs, and has never had the opportunity to "know Christ," If I kill him now, he will probably go to hell (according to my religion).

Or, should I show him mercy, even to the point of "sacrificing my own life" to either try and reach this young man, or simply show him the mercy he may of never received from anyone else before; and maybe just maybe that act of mercy will resonate with that young man,and thus lead him to his own Salvation in the Lord?

Which act shows "love?"

Second example
I'm a middle aged man who is divorced. I get news that my x-father in law is going into surgery and could possibly die.

My X father in law has done nothing but hate me, demonize me, try and kill me, or have me arrested. All this man has done is spew evil and hate and judgement at me.

But, I have Christ in my heart...

Should I be happy that an "enemy" is going to die, and boast in this knowledge and "praise God" that an evil man is about to die?

Or...do I have compassion on my enemy, and pray with the same love, and hope that I would pray in, if it were my own child....or, my own life?

Which of these show love, and which of these show a void of love?

Anything void of love is "evil."

I've learned the answers to these questions. When we take out compassion for others, even our enemies, we are stepping outside of love; outside of The Holy Spirit, and we are stepping into the flesh, and darkness, evil spirits, demonic thoughts and actions.

They do no know how to love, or have compassion, or have mercy, and most of all----they don't know how to show Grace.

Evil will always have a "good excuse" as to why they can kill, steal, or destroy."

There is a monumental difference here. We are either guided by love for others, or we aren't. 

There is no middle ground. There is no such thing as "lukewarm love."

Scientists Found a 'Yellow Brick Road' at The Bottom of The Pacific Ocean

An expedition to a deep-sea ridge, just north of the Hawaiian Islands, revealed a surprise discovery back in 2022: an ancient dried-out lake bed paved with what looks like a yellow brick road.

The eerie scene was chanced upon by the exploration vessel Nautilus, while surveying the Liliʻuokalani ridge within Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument (PMNM).



PMNM is one of the largest marine conservation areas in the world, larger than all the national parks in the United States combined, and we've only explored about 3 percent of its seafloor.

Researchers at the Ocean Exploration Trust are pushing the frontiers of this wilderness, which lies more than 3,000 meters below the waves, and the best part is, anyone can watch the exploration.

A highlight reel of the expedition's footage published on YouTube in April 2022 captured the moment researchers operating the deep-sea vehicle stumbled upon the road to Oz.


"It's the road to Atlantis," a researcher on the radio can be heard exclaiming.


"The yellow brick road?" another voice counters.

"This is bizarre," adds another member of the team.

"Are you kidding me? This is crazy."

Despite being located under about a thousand meters of ocean, the lake bed discovered by researchers on the summit of the Nootka seamount looks surprisingly dry.

On the radio, the team notes that the ground looks almost like "baked crust" that could be peeled off.

In one tiny section, the volcanic rock has fractured in a way that looks strikingly similar to bricks.

The researchers found the discovery to be very unusual. 

"The unique 90-degree fractures are likely related to heating and cooling stress from multiple eruptions at this baked margin," reads a caption to the YouTube video.

At first glance, the effect is easily mistaken for a path to a wonderful new world. And in a way, that's not altogether wrong.

Following the brick road is a sign we're headed in the right direction and could soon learn a whole lot more about Earth's hidden geology.


How could a road be almost a thousand feet down at the bottom of the ocean? There's no way a road can sink, in tact, that far, and land constructed like that. Not even a section of it, I would think, but I could be wrong.

Could it of lead to an ancient city under the ocean?
The road to Atlantis, maybe?
It just baked that way?
Either way pretty cool; fun to speculate.

Norma and Arthur Lewis, a suburban couple with a young child, receive a simple wooden box as a gift, which bears fatal and irrevocable consequences. A mysterious stranger delivers the message that the box promises to bestow upon its owner $1 million cash with the press of a button. However pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world; someone they don’t know. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, Norma and Arthur find themselves in the cross-hairs of a startling moral dilemma and must face the true nature of their humanity.

The main characters, Norma Lewis (Cameron Diaz) and Arthur Lewis, were based on director Richard Kelly's parents. His mother also suffered a crippled foot after an X-Ray mishap; his father worked for NASA and co-designed the camera used on the Viking Mars Landers (as in the movie). The film takes place in December 1976.




Not the greatest production but definitely intriguing high strangeness film which led me to American Symbolist/Golden Age muralist, illustrator, and painter Edwin Austin Abbey.

Edwin Austin Abbey (1852-1911) was a young, highly regarded illustrator for Harper's Monthly magazine, but had never completed any work in oil paint when he was approached for the mural commission. The Philadelphia-born artist lived most of his life in England, where he befriended artist John Singer Sargent. In 1890, Abbey and Sargent dined with Charles Follen McKim, Stanford White, and Augustus Saint-Gaudens in New York, where architect McKim convinced him to consider painting a mural cycle in the Boston Public Library's Book Delivery Room. Upon visiting the library during its construction with McKim, Abbey agreed to undertake the project and signed a contract to complete the work for $15,000 in 1893. He selected a subject of "legendary romance" in The Quest for the Holy Grail, basing his work upon Alfred, Lord Tennyson's version of the Arthurian tale.
