This was a short story I posted at ATS last month and thought I would flesh out the story to describe the "Who, Why, and Reason," of the attacks. This was supposed to be a Christmas theme story and I do not remember if I posted the story here or not ?

Let the story begin

We had 18 battle ships and 40 support cruisers on a routine patrol just outside the orbit of Neptune. We had been expecting a routine patrol and a hasty return to Mars base for a little R&R and a good Christmas celebration as it was that time of year back on Earth; an old tradition that some still clung to..

That had been the plan until 3 unknown ships appeared less that 2 million clicks from our formation. We started broadcasting on all available frequencies to these strange ships asking for their identities and and purpose of the visit.

Their answer was to target our support cruisers with energy beams and sub-light missiles which ended up destroying 19 of our ships in less time than it would take to strap into our combat station chairs. Our shields were up and at full power yet the beams and missiles had cut though the support cruiser's shields like they were naked with no shields at all..

"Target those three ships with our 500 megaton missiles; put 4 missiles on each of those ships!"

A moment later there was a slight vibration as all 12 missiles left the tubes of our battle ship. Our other 17 Battle ships had also fired their 500 megaton missiles as well. The three unknown ships were able to destroy many of our missiles with their particle beams yet almost 50% of the 216 our fleet had fired struck their targets.

If you have never seen a 500 megaton nuclear device go off in space it is something that there really are no words for ... now figure over 100 missiles impacting and exploding !

Or view screens had automatically dimmed to protect our computer stations and our eyes when the fleets 500 megaton missiles detonated. When the screens came back up to full view the three ships which had attacked us were nothing more than three fading decreasing balls of plasma and gas .

I made a frequency wide broadcast, " Merry Christmas M.F.s" which was maybe not in the spirit of Christmas joy but I really wanted to kill more of the bastards...... as you can imagine M.F. did not mean "my friend."

Each of our 19 ships which had been destroyed carried a crew of 70 dedicated personnel which had a passion for their jobs and the Space Fleet's mission. We were all passionate and dedicated to our jobs yet with the loss of the 19 support Cruisers (which had personnel I had known for years) there was a void and blackness in my very soul that wanted to burst forth in a rage I have never felt before.

This loss of our Cruisers left me with an inner hate that would not be quelled, come Christmas or Hell's high water.

There would be no reunion with families and no Merry Christmas for way to many of my Space Force friends and their families..

The End

This was the opening battle that came to be known as the "Forever War".

1. There were no biological life forms on the ship as the ship itself was an A.I. Critter/creation.
   
2. All ship wide maintenance was conducted by various sized droids who were multi tasked to perform different duties and repair work. There were 2 emergency battery powered 5 KT nuclear destructive devices that out EMP cannons had stopped from activating and blowing the black ship into a fading glowing cloud of plasma.
   
3. What we would consider a command center/Bridge was nothing more than a bank of core processors which were fed information by all the sensors and Droids of the ship.
   
4. The command center was about the size of a small walk in closet you might find on Earth.
   
5. It took almost one Earth standard year (and three new Vader attacks) before we finally got the black ship back to Earth for our scientist to figure out the coding and language that the Black Ship's A.I. used.
   
6. When we were finally able to communicate and decipher the Vader mission statement..... What we found from this A.I. was despicable and disturbing, yet explained much.
   
7. Their sole mission was to destroy any Sentient life they found in the universe. Their reasoning was simple computer logic as their creators who had given them their version of life had tried to destroy them; therefore all Sentient life bad..... A.I. Good.
   
8. The Vaders had fought and destroyed 53 Sentient species in the last 1000 years of their travels. If you were a plant or a dumb lizard they left you alone. However if you made fire you were to smart or would become to smart to exist in their now claimed galaxy.
   
9. This particular Vader ship had come from one of the 69 mother ships which traveled the galaxy. Each of the mother ships could and usually did manufacture 3 of the black ships every 4 to 5 earth standard months depending on the resources their Vader mining droids could acquire .
   
   
10. We were the first species the Vaders had encountered advanced enough to fight back and survive so consequently, we Humans had become a priority for elimination.
    

Is this a real conspiracy......I do not know but it does seem like something is going on IMO

Mary Bottle came to the conclusion that if her pen-friend hadn't arrived at their agreed rendezvous by the time
the winter sun went behind the nearest of the two tall posts of the Fessel Cloud Walkway, she'd call it a day
and return to her mundane life in Munderville via the more safer route than this rickety-looking platform. Mary
and Dorothy Cobb had been corresponding with each other for almost four summers since they'd first met
during the seasonal time of Tattie-picking Week and the young woman in the light-blue gingham dress was
looking forward to seeing the only person she could truly call a friend.

Mary would always smile as she recalled those couple of harmonious days where they gathered the farmer's
root-crop and chatted across the imaginary boundary that divided Dorothy's designated picking-area and her
own. As the pair collected the potatoes left in the plough horse's wake, they found that they had an affinity
with lots of things and the warm days had been full of amiable chattering and an appreciation for each others
different lifestyles.

Dorothy was a seamstress and was looking forward to starting her own business of Cartwheel and Ten-Spoke
Yarrel button-making, a skill slowly declining due to changing fashions. But the always-grinning tawny-haired
girl from Bowe-Denton assured her tattie-plucking acquaintance that in the world of dressmaking, fads come
and go and people would always needs clothes.

When Dorothy had mentioned their chance-meeting was merely due to her temporary situation of visiting her
Aunt Agatha living on a small-holding just outside of Munderville, Mary -who had sewn her own garments since
she'd been only knee-high, had dared to ask if they could continue their rapport through the use of the Midnight
Mail and the blue-eyed young lady with the muddy knees had agreed. Somewhere on the horizon, the blonde
stripling from Munderville believed an opportunity to leave her humdrum village awaited and now -if her friend
shows up, that time may be closer.

Alas, with the unenthusiastic sun drawing a faint long shadow from the heavily-rope-wrapped upright, Mary's
heart sank and breathing out her melancholy into the cool air, she turned to head towards Calder's Way. That
was when she saw the faint shape in the late-afternoon mist upon the bridge.

With a sudden rush of elation, Mary realised it was Dorothy and she must have merely come to their meeting
place by the other less-used route past the almost-redundant Dry-Goods store. With a smile on her face that
threatened to reach her ears, Mary absently glanced down at the wide lumber of the platform and raced towards
her soul mate in the foggy centre of the Fessel Cloud Walkway.
But it wasn't Dorothy.

The Vampire known as Otis Susan smiled sardonically to the open-mouthed crowd that watched the scene and
prepared to feast on the blood of the tenacious woman standing before him wearing the stupid big hat. It had
been six whole weeks of feeding here in Starlingbush and now with the slaying of their recently-arrived aspiring
law-enforcer, Otis reckoned he might even get through to next winter before having to move off to another venue
to banquet.

The figure standing inside a small circle of stones raised her arms and in doing so, showed bare thigh to match
her bare feet. With a mumble of incoherent words, the little woman looked ridiculous to the Vampire who had
been maurading this part of the countryside since the beginning of summer. "Git yer' gone, yer' foul ogre and
leave not a pong of yer' exit" this poncho-wearing newcomer cried out in far-too-dramatic tones and it was at
that precise moment when Otis noticed the audience had began to giggle.

The more-cynical among us sometimes state that honey can catch flies, but allow the wasps go free. In the case
of this natural syrup -when mixed with certain herbs and incantations, it is not true. Everything becomes attained
and that includes the slowly-comprehending Otis Susan. The knee-high boots he'd been buried in were cemented
fast to the dried earth beneath the layer of brewed amalgam and no matter how he tried, he could not further his
intended assault.

He'd come in from the south side of Starlingbush and been surprised by the absence of residents in their homes
during his perusal through their little windows. With the means of his stealth, Otis has crept along the unpaved
thoroughfare until he spied the citizens of this backwater hamlet gathered as a jumbled congregation in a rarely
-used corral listening to an unknown orator with -what the Vampire believed, was a poor dialect.

"...Aye, these buggers might fink' they have the right te' just come and tek' what they want, but Ah'll show yer'
that majick will always tek' the day" this bantam female under a far-too large hat announced proudly during
his silent approach. Adorned in a grimy garment that had seen better days and a weathered satchel hanging
limply from her shoulder, this unshod pontificator stood within a bracelet of rocks that Otis believed had been
gathered by the peasants who worked the land in these parts and announced to her audience that their place
on his menu was no more.

Slowly creeping from the shadows of the forest that circled the dusty stockade, Starlingbush's visiting Vampire
sniffed his incredulity at the little woman's cocky sermon and licking his long fangs, Otis decided that the scruffy
newcomer would make a grand appetiser. For one fleeting moment, a name fluttered across the blood-sucker's
fevered mind, but he failed to snatch it.

Out here in the nowhere boondocks, Otis had heard all the lurid tales of conjurers of spells and grand illusionists
who inveigled the hillbillies with their so-called sortilege. But he knew they never came this far off the regular
roads and certainly never carried a less-uncultivated vernacular.

Yet here he was, only a few steps from his rough-sounding prey and his feet suddenly frozen to the ground.
"Five steps, iff'n' yer' the Last Witch of Underhill" Peggy Powler whispered through her antipathetic smile and
after nodding to a waving Midnight Mail Carrier in the crowd, began the ceremony of purification. It didn't take
long as some of the men of Starlingbush had brought their axes.

As they move from the Osirion to the tunnel leading to Ramses tomb we see a wall that is partially eroded.

Pause this video at 16:53.

Study the decaying wall carefully.

You will notice the outer part of the wall is eroding and this outer part was made to look as if the wall was constructed with large blocks.

But we can see the inner part of the wall is in reality made of much smaller stones.

I call this effect missing sheetrock effect.

And started hunting 4k Egypt tour videos to search for missing sheetrock footage.

I found a really nice one, so keep your eyes open whenever they go to any temples and look at artwork on walls, columns, statues, basically anything with erosion.

You will find the secondary layer is always smooth plaster, probably for better adhesion when they applied the premade artwork.

This artwork was probably made on large tables while still wet so the artists could draw on it, then cut it with string into say 4 x 4 chunks and leave it in the sun to dry, which is still in practice today in pottery making.

Having discovered this 'Missing Sheetrock' effect I started examining other Ancient Megaliths around the world and lo and behold it turns out The Egyptians were not the only Masters of Illusion in ancient times!

It was the chilly winter night of December 6, 1941, and Navy stoker John Capes was dozing off on his makeshift bunk bed made from an old torpedo tube. His vessel, the Parthian-class British submarine HMS Perseus, surfaced calmly while recharging her batteries under cover of the night near the shore of the Greek island of Kefalonia. Amazing 10 min story.




Noted this comment: "It should be mentioned that Capes was not on the manifest of the Perseus because he was tending to a court case (supposedly) in Malta and missed his assigned submarine, which I believe was called HMS Thrasher. He was a hitchhiker on the Perseus, which was part of the "Magic Carpet" fleet that, as you rightly pointed out, was charged with keeping Malta supplied. On the Island, I have heard tell over the years from the locals in Mavrata (I live on Kefalonia) that some believed Capes was some kind of intelligence officer, However, I could never confirm this.. Lastly, a point of interest is that a Lieutenant Merlin of the Royal Greek Navy was also a guest on the Perseus and on his way to Alexandria to take command of a Greek submarine. From accounts of the locals Merlin, whose family was from Kefalonia, and Nicolay were outside on the conning tower so that the Greek officer could catch a look at his home Island as the batteries charged... I hope these tidbits were of interest."
