I have one.  years ago was on my front deck on a Labor Day evening.  I saw stars being blacked out.  the blackout moved across the sky.  I saw small lights front and back and I think middle.  I concluded it was an airship, too high to see the actual ship but low enough to block stars.  still not %100 sure!

No, not those black holes... Censored Images From America’s Great Depression.

US Farm Security Administration's (FSA) ambitious project to document the lives of farming families & relocation of families during the 1930s across the USA.

Roy Emerson Stryker of the Farm Security Administration commissioned a small army of photojournalists to travel America portraying the poor, their shattered homes, and a bereft American landscape. The unforgettable results include Walker Evans’s famous portrait of Allie Mae Burroughs and Dorothea Lange’s Migrant Mother.

This small but outstanding exhibition reveals the brutal cropping of history behind those iconic images. Only a minority of photographs satisfied the FSA. Stryker did not simply put the rejects in a filing cabinet. He and his staff punched holes in the negatives so they could not be printed without the defacing presence of a big black hole. They literally "killed" the unwanted pictures.

But they’re neither objects nor stains, rather punch holes made by Roy Stryker, director of the FSA’s documentary photograph program, and his team of editors. The holes marked pictures as unfit for purpose. But what was the purpose of the Government program if not to show it all?

The holes have become additions, extra points of interest.

Why were these images killed? What is it about each image we see here that caused the editors to act as censors? Looking at the holes in the sky, we might put on our tinfoil hats and look for conspiracy, supposing the images have been redacted to remove traces of flying objects. What is the man picking up from the grass? Why is another man’s face obliterated? Who is the missing face in the crowd?

At the final count, around 100,000 images by photographers like Gordon Parks, Russell Lee and Marion Post Wolcott had been ‘killed’.



In 1939, Stryker finally put aside his practice of punching holes in negatives, allowing the "bad" shots to live on unscathed.



New York photographer Bill McDowell published a book of a selection of FSA negatives, along with his recreation of the photo without the black spot. The 2016 book called "Ground: A Reprise of Photographs from the Farm Security Administration".

McDowell's site explains the black spots: "The FSA photography division was run by Roy Stryker, who routinely defaced FSA negatives with a hole punch to prevent them from being printed, much to the consternation of the photographers." McDowell wants to make the original vision of photographers whole again. "Each photograph in 'Ground' is the result of three separate acts of picture-making: the original photographer's deliberate compositional and contextual choices, Stryker's hole punch, and my re-contextualization," he said.

Today we can see them all (most of them) at the National Archives. But back then the desire to show the places and faces of America in the mire was controlled to fit a message.

Here's a few photos of what the censors didn’t want you to see: the black hole photographs. These pictures each contain an inky black disc of nothing. A black sun hangs with pendant menace and mystery.

The fungal infection was brought on by exposure to the blastomyces fungus that lurks in soil, wet leaves, and rotting wood across much of the Midwest.

Health officials have not found the source of Ian's infection but his social media is flooded with images of himself spending time outdoors shooting with friends and running around with his black Labrador Retriever.

Infections in that region have been ticking up recent years, though the true toll of the fungus in the US is not known because the vast majority of states are not required to report them to the government.

Ian was a chef at a Harbor Springs Tex-Mex restaurant called Rodrigo’s before he died.

His father Ron said: ‘He was a good kid. He didn’t get in very much trouble, he was no trouble to raise.

‘People love his food, people love him.’

Ian was in the hospital for months before succumbing to the infection on Saturday.

The week before Thanksgiving, he was admitted to hospital.

While It’s not clear what his symptoms were early on, but the early stages of blastomycosis infection typically resemble a flu-like illness.

Symptoms early on include cough, fever, chills, muscle aches, joint pain, and chest pain.

Mr Pritchard’s condition deteriorated quickly, and he was transferred to the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. It was there that doctors pinpointed the cause of his infection to be exposure to blastomyces.

In all, Ian was in the Detroit hospital for over five weeks.

His father Ron said: ‘They showed us a picture of his lungs, and they literally looked like Swiss cheese.’

The infection occurs when a person inhales spores of the blastomyces fungus, typically found in wet leaves, soil, and rotting wood. Infection from breathing in the spores is rare and only about half of those exposed will experience symptoms.

The infection begins in the lungs, where the spores lodge themselves into lung tissue.

The immune system launches an assault against the infection, sending an army of white blood cells to the lungs. This leads to inflammation in the lung tissue, though, causing lasting damage.

Blastomycosis can spread in the bloodstream to different parts of the body, including the bones, brain, and other organs. It kills between four and 22 percent of its victims.

Antifungal treatments are available, including Itraconazole and Amphotericin B. But the infection evaded anti-fungal medicine, which meant that Ian would not be able to get a much-needed lung transplant.

Ron Pritchard’s coworkers set up a GoFundMe page to help the family defray travel costs to stay with their son in the hospital and the medical bills piling up. Ian’s antifungal medicines alone cost about $7,000 for a month’s supply.

According to an update on the GoFundMe page, Ian was responsive in his final days, and it was his decision to let go, asking his family to pull the plug.

The Pritchards have now lost two children. The first was Ian’s older brother, who was stillborn at eight months. Both boys were survived by their sister Megan, who was by Ian’s side when he passed away.

Exposure to blastomyces is relatively common in the upper Midwest and areas surrounding the Great Lakes.

Welcome to the modern definition of “freedom of speech”, where the MSM are directly and explicitly permitted to “knowingly publish false information with intent to cause non-trivial harm”, and you can be sent to jail for a year for calling out their lies.

Oh, and it looks like our friends across the pond might not be far behind. The Big Tech Senate hearings started yesterday, and social media executives are already throwing their support behind the new “Kids Online Safety Act”.

With the EU’s own Digital Services Act coming into force later this month, and all the focus on “misinformation and disinformation” at Davos two weeks ago, we can see the real crackdown on internet free speech is about to kick into gear.

Special Counsel Robert Hur collected evidence Biden 'willfully retained and disclosed classified materials'

My son is homeschooled and has online classes that include world history.

I remember being taught how the muslim invasion of Europe during the early 1000s(don't remember when anymore) and that they murdered 100s of thousands Christians and caused such uproar and disruption that Europe fell into the Dark Ages.
Off course this is now considered 'misinformation'. 

Now off course with all lies being taught in school and history being rewritten , they are 'teaching' something entirely opposite and not true. They are saying that Muslims were being prosecuted and how great Muslims were and that they brought peace and prosperity 

It's such absolute hogwash lies! 

And off course using google , searching the first 10 pages was nothing but the newly made up propaganda/lies.
It's infuriating! How is this even tolerated by so many?

This level of deception and rewriting history is dangerous.  How is anything believable anymore . 
What about future/current generations being taught nothing but lies who will fall for it.

My son knows it's lies so he complains to me about them , which is so sad in itself .
The worst is not only the rewriting of history, but how they will label the truth as misinformation and us truth tellers 'conspiracy theorists'.

Sun rise was providing just enough light to see you golf ball when struck. We had teed off around 06:30 so I would guess it was close to 07:00.

My Caddie always brings snacks and sometimes pork strips or Chicken to snack on.

We were in the golf cart when she pulled out a small 6 by 9 inch clear package that looked like it had little brown pork strips about 1 to two inches in length. She had eaten a few strips and held one next to my lips so I bit. Instead of port the meat was soft and tasted like a mushy pecan. I grabbed the package and started to try and identify what the meat was. The bodies had several circles going around the bodies and when I asked her what to hell was I eating ??? She laughed and let me know they were boiled and fried Grub worms, " They are very good don't you think?"

If something will not kill you Asians will eat it. 

At least who ever prepared the Worms had removed the heads.

Psychologically even though the worm was not to bad I am not a bird or a Lizard people so I do not plan on eating another Grub !!... Also I do not trust my long time caddie at that particular golf course like I used to. She is a devious little bugger !
