Damn! Shocked to hear this. I haven’t been on there in a long time. Looks like they have a situation eerily similar to ATS with an absentee administrator who apparently had an ax to grind. Crazy times. I’m so grateful for this site, though I have been gone for a long time from here too. Just busy with life.

Hosting expires on 02/28/2026. They'll probably give us about a week of grace period. I've pushed it pretty close in the past.

But obviously, the owner has his reasons aka him and his family doxxed.

I think they should sell it.

With the reason for closure due to security, selling the site does not stop the risk. It will help reduce the threat with a new owner. As the creator. would you risk your family with the possible blow back from a shared responsibility?

If it was about the money, even getting $2K is better than nothing. Maybe one day things might change and could turn the server back on. Will be tough getting the social engine running again once shut down.

We should all heed this warning and be prepared to take the consequences of what we post. DI started with good intentions, some topics do get heavy. The internet is made to communicate. Government, corporate and AI systems are improving in tracking everything going on. One day we might get an unexpected knock on the door?

I tend to agree with the majority of the above.

As to unexpected knocks at the door.

In my experience, it's best just not to answer the door to people you don't know in this day of age. 

And/or get a big dog, when they see that at the window, cold-caller-wise, they tend to just move along to the next house.

Too often, a discussion just gets caught in the back-and-forth arguing. 

The positives of hearing both sides' points are still there, but after a while,though it just devolves into a toxic X.com or Reddit. 

I had more people on ignore (all parties and persuasions) just because it gets repetitive. Argumentative is fine, but if thats all you have...
