ATS is Down...Maybe for the count

ATS is back!  Seems like it wasn't down for the count.  Once again.  Yay!

I can't sign in or change my password, nor can I create a new profile, just like before. I don't understand how anyone could get back on there.

So whatever fix was made, it had no effect on the glitches it had before it blinked out for a while.

They are saying, on that other, other site, that Darko's name is no longer on the members list, and there are 2 new members as of today.

What that means I have no idea.

I wonder though, if the real owner is messing around, getting ready to change the site to whatever the heck they really bought it for.

That was my assumption , ATS probably didn't provide the expected revenue I guess.

Gortex, it seems to be working normal for me.  And by normal, I mean you still have Mods removing comments they don't like.  But I can seem to go anywhere I want to and read all the new threads.

Yes, some of us did wait.  There were those, however, who didn't and didn't like me pointing out the error of their hasty ways.  And I got my comment removed because of it.  It seemed a bit childish to me, I won't "deny" that.

ETA: Some new guy just joined who calls himself "ClaudeRatel". How the hell does someone join when I thought nobody could for months now? That is very suspicious, too bad I can't join up again and ask this guy how he did it.

ClaudeRatel has a join date of 28-7-2024 so probably not a new sign up although who knows given the state of the code , perhaps you could try to create a new account to see if it works now but I doubt it will.

Pretty sure ATS ran without an SSL certificate for a while a year or so ago before a new one was acquired so I doubt that's the reason for the outage , it would be nice to think a new owner took it down to do some housework in the backend but again I doubt it.

I also saw another new user name, and looked and they joined yesterday, January 17th, 2025.  Maybe whoever owns ATS used the downtime to fix that problem?  Or maybe there's a new owner and they've started fixing things?  Speculation runs rampant at this time.

I am suddenly in a position to tell you something about Claude Ratel. I have discovered (via this link https://www.reddit.com/r/AboveTopSecret/...n_discord/ ) a Discord site called ATS Refugees, founded by him, which has been going since at least the end of last year..

On further investigation, the group has on;y half a dozen members, even including me, and the founder is evidently a rampant lone wolf.

I just saw a new introduction thread on ATS where someone was able to create an account with a new name and sign in today.  So it seems to me these kind of fixes wouldn't be being done if whoever's in charge is thinking about getting rid of ATS.

Yep it looks like maintenance has been done during the down time , kdog has re-joined and other parts of the site are working again.

Password reset for old accounts now also working , midicon has retrieved their account.
