Thursday saw the long awaited (and feared by Labour) Local Council Elections in England , about half of the elections were postponed by the Labour Government due to them deciding to change the way authorities are set up which was an obvious plan by them to mitigate the damage they were to face from an angry electorate , my vote was stolen as my area is one of those effected by the changes.

Yesterday a political earthquake hit our Country as results showed millions of people who still had their voice shouted loud that enough is enough , the voice of the people destroyed both the Labour and Conservatives as result after result showed Reform UK had taken council after council and picked up an extra MP from a by-election in what was a safe Labour seat vacated by the sitting Labour MP who had been filmed punching a constituent.

Reform UK gained 677 council seats.
Conservatives lost 676 council seats
Labour lost 186 council seats and it would have been so much worse if the hadn't robbed half the Country of their / our vote. 

The ground has shifted , the Labour government who were only elected last July came fourth in the election with just 10 seats more than independent candidates , British people are angry about uncontrolled legal and illegal immigration , rising taxes and costs and falling living standards brought about by the anti British Labour party who care more about minorities than they do hard working British families , now the fightback is on.

Yesterday felt like the dawning of a new age for this Country , the promise of a return to sanity and common sense government is on the horizon and as the Conservatives , Labour and the MSN implode following the result the British people have been given new hope for the future , we can and will get our Country back.

I've mentioned now and then some of the "spooky" activity that occurs around my house. Houses, really, because it's been with me as long as I can recall. Not necessarily the same spooks, of course, but it does seem to find me wherever I go.

Anyhow, this house is no different.

So, you've all, at one time or another, heard one of my spook tales. This is just another one of those, anecdotal, because it's not subject to scientific rigor or scrutiny. It's not like it's a repeatable experiment or anything. Spooks, like deities, don't generally jump through hoops on command for experimentation.

However, for this particular ghost tale, I bring some evidence. You can take it for what it's worth, and do with it as you will. I'm not here to convince anyone, just to tell another ghost story.

Some history on the house. It was built in the early 1960's by my grandparents. I recall it being built, and the way it sat up on stilts at the front end before the basement was put in. They built the house first, basement second. So, it's not really that old, as mountain houses go. Maybe 60-63 years old, max. I'm older than the house is. By way of contrast, the cabin I was raised in would be, if some miscreants hadn't burned it down, about 120 years old or so.

People have died in this house, and dead people have "lain in state", for wakes and such, usually about 4 feet from where I sit, in front of the living room window. My grandparents, a great aunt, and my great grand mother died here, and they, as well as some of their brothers and sisters, were brought in afterwards for the wakes. They call it "keeping watch with the dead" around here.

So, "spooks" around here have never bothered me. I figure maybe some folks are just occasionally checking in.

Now to the bottle. There is a little brown jug, glass with a metal cap, that is filled with water to give it a little extra weight. The purpose of it is to keep a door propped open that insists on closing itself, It's, basically, a doorstop. The water in it is about as old as the house is - it came out of the original well for the house. It has been used to prop that door open for as long as the house has stood. I think the little brown jug was originally a vinegar jug.

Now some years ago, Grace got a hankering to tinker with Photoshop, so I got her a copy of it, and she went wild with it. She used to take pictures apart and recompose them and stuff like that, cutting out this or that and adding in somewhat or t'other. She composed photo art works at Deviant Art, and I reckon some of her stuff can probably still be found there.

For one of those art works, she photographed the little brown jug and removed the background so it could be composited into some of her art, and kept it for "stock". I don't recall when she took the photo, but it could have been as long ago as 10 years, or as recently as 2 or 3 years ago. We moved back here from Kansas City in July 2015, then moved out again late the following summer in 2015 for my work, and then moved back to this house again in July-August 2020. So it could have been taken during any of those intervals.

Recently, I've taken to trying to compose photo art myself. Not with Photoshop, which is far too complicated for me to control for what it does, but with an older program called "Paint Shop Pro". I use the last version of it released by JASC, the last version before Corel bought the software out so they could cripple it and thus cut the competition's throat.

Looking through some of that older stock for ideas to compose with, I ran across that old photo pf the Little Brown Jug. Didn't think much about it, really, as no one had noticed the reflections in it before. I was just concerned with them to try to lighting-match objects in images, make sure the light was all coming from the same direction to add a layer of realism. But, when I got to examining it closely, I found... faces... in those reflections.

Faces of people who were not there, at least not visibly, when the image was taken all those years ago.

The image of the jug (you can get to the full sized version of the picture by right-clicking on the image and selecting "open image in new tab", or by clicking on the thumbnail at the bottom of the post) :



That's the only version of it I've found, the one with the background removed. Grace took the photo on a sunny summer day, out on the balcony where she could get more sunlight into the image. On the left side of the jug you can see the reflection of the handrail on the balcony, to the west. On the right side of the jug, you can see the reflections of the house siding, to the east. In the center, lower, there is a reflection of Grace while she was taking the picture. Just above that, there is a blackish hexagonal shape, which is where Grace's face would have reflected if the hexagon hadn't been there, and above the hexagon... the faces.

A little closer look:



It's a peculiar property of light and reflections that the light reflected will bounce off the reflective surface at the exact same angle it enters the surface from the real thing. try it some time with a flashlight and a mirror, and you will see that whatever angle the light beam enters the mirror, it will reflect back out of that mirror at the same angle, but in the opposite direction. I've actually used that property of reflective surfaces during surveillance and recon missions. You can watch folks while they don't know you're watching, and think you're just "window shopping".

Anyhow, that is why the balcony hand rail appears to turn upside down as it goes towards the top of the jug. At the bottom, it's right side up, near the hexagon it develops a fairly sharp bend, and above that it is upside down. That is due to the changing curvature of the reflective surface of the bottle.

Now here is a weird thing. The main face, the one on the right, appears to be oozing out a window on the wall of the house... but it's right side up. This means that person had to be hanging upside down, as it is above the jug curve where the handrail goes upside down. All the other faces, however many there may be, also are right side up, meaning THEY are upside down as well.

When Grace took the photo, she was alone on the balcony. No one else was there, not even me. You'll just have to take my word for that, as i can offer no "proof" However, my word has been my bond for well over 60 years, and I see no reason i should change that now.

I first saw one face, the one on the right, as clear as day. I have no doubt that is a face. Then the others started appearing to me, and so I am less sure of them. Might be paradolia working on me.

A closer look at just the faces:



To the right of center, you can see what appears to me to be a male face. To the left of center, almost cheek to cheek, I see another face, and possibly two more above those two and angling upwards towards the right. it's almost like they posed for a group shot.

I do not recognize any of the faces. One of the ones that may be paradolia appears to me to be a child. I will note here that my mother had a brother who died young, as a child, but I think he was an infant, not old enough to be the child I see there. maybe other folks won't see anything at all, and it's just my imagination working on me. I have no idea who or what those faces may be. I don't recognize any of them.

So, there it is. Another ghost story from me. take it or leave it, believe or don't. subject the images to analysis, whatever you want to do. I'm just leaving it here as a conversation piece.

ETA: I will also add that all of the faces appear to be illuminated by sunlight coming from the hand rail (left) side of the image, where the sunlight was coming from, as if they were real, solid people... just hanging upside down for a group photo. In a jug reflection. Also to add, I have no idea what caused that black hexagon shape that hides Grace's face and serves as the focal point where the handrail bends. I mean, I understand it has something to do with the curvature of the jug, but what cause it to be a black blot mystifies me.

It's Friday , I've finished work and just had a right good laugh at the expense of a "Judge" so I figured I'd share the mirth , UN Judge Lydia Mugambe is tonight starting a prison sentence for importing a slave to the UK to slave for her , sadly for Ms Mugambe Britain isn't keen on slavery so instead of arresting youtubers the police did their job and caught a bad guy , gall , whatever.

We had an auto landing ability with most of our aircraft which was/could be used during CAT 3 landings. When you can not see due to low visibility due to fog  (or whatever) a CAT 2 or 3 ILS landing is made. Now it looks like the Navy guys and girls are getting an auto landing system for their fly by wire aircraft. I am not surprised as the Navy is landing drones on their carriers already. You gotta wonder after 100s of push button landings if the crew will still be able to actually hand fly an aircraft back onboard the carrier ? I was seeing great push button pilots who were terrible when they actually had to hand fly the aircraft.

Yes you read that headline correctly, and that headline is why we're starting off this week's blogs with this story, which was shared (with our very deep gratitude) by S.C.G.  The story is that China claims to have successfully tested a "non-nuclear hydrogen bomb." Before you get your knickers all in a twist and say "that's impossible", bear with me, because as we're going to discover in today's high octane speculation, there are three basic possible modes of interpreting the Chinese claims, and they're all rather stunning, and they're all - if true - military game changers. So, without further ado, here's the story:

Now, let's deal with the claims of the headline alone, before delving into the article. If there is to be such a thing as a non-thermonuclear hydrogen bomb, i.e., a conventional bomb that is able to create an explosion so large it rivals that of a tactical nuclear weapon, and without the nasty radioactive fallout that always accompanies a nuclear weapon's use, then a little reflection would suggest that there are three possible basic ways of doing so:

(1) use hydrogen as the oxidizer in a conventional explosive, rather like how nitrogen and oxygen are used in chemical explosives, where the nitrogen and oxygen are bound chemically to the rest of the explosive. When the detonation occurs, the oxidizers allow the rapid burn of the explosion to occur. This is the "standard" design of explosives; 

(2) Use atmospheric hydrogen as the oxidizer in a fuel air explosive.  This use of atmospheric oxidizer is what makes a fuel air bomb so gigantic, rivaling the size of tactical nuclear weapons in explosive power, for the explosive agent does not carry its own oxidizer, but rather relies on the ability to use local ambient atmospheric gas as its oxidizer. This method is a closely held secret but the concept I suspect is obvious enough. Indeed, in the early thermonuclear era, before the United States had tested its first hydrogen bomb, there was concern that the detonation would initiate a chain reaction in the planet's entire atmosphere, burning all its hydrogen, and leaving the planet a dead and barren rock.

(3) The third and final, and most sought-after method, is to find a way to achieve fusion of hydrogen (usually lithium deuteride  and some tritium) without the use of an atomic bomb as the "fuse" needed to created the immense heat, pressure, and energies to slam those atoms together for the really big bang of a full scale hydrogen bomb. Notice that in conventional thermonuclear bomb engineering, it takes an atomic bomb to ignite the hydrogen bomb, and it is from the fission of uranium 235 or plutonium 239 that the deadly radioactive fallout products from nuclear detonations original. The fusion reaction releases a lot of radiation, but most of it is is the form of x- and gamma-rays.  Most of the "bad stuff" is coming from the fission reaction, including those fast neutrons. 

So the quest of thermonuclear engineering has always been for a means of initiating a fusion reaction (the really big explosion) without an a-bomb to set it off (a really big explosion without the nasty by-products).  The latter quest as birthed all sorts of stories about substances or methods able to accomplish this, from the Red Mercury legends (which I've talked about in my books), to the tests of the so-called "Ripple" technology during the last atmospheric test shot of the American Operation Dominic, a test which I have talked about with our friend and colleague Daniel Liszt (Dark Journalist) on his show.  This last test, according to publicly available information,  was the last atmospheric test of a hydrogen bomb done by the United States in 1963, and was personally authorized by then-president Kennedy. The test allegedly achieved a fusion reaction that was "99.99 percent clean", i.e., with very little residual radioactive fallout.

Shortly after this test, the Soviet Union signed the nuclear test ban treaty, and my suspicion is that the USA, under Kennedy's prompting, shared the results of the test with the Soviets.  The reason for the sudden Soviet acquiescence is simple: if the USA did manage to explode a "clean" hydrogen bomb, then the unthinkable just became thinkable: one could achieve strategic destruction on a potential enemy without the radioactive fallout blowback on oneself.

Or to put it baldly and nakedly: nuclear war became possible.

But notice something else: on the level of the first two options - some sort of gigantic conventional explosion - strategic bombardment of a potential enemy is also possible. And it just may be that such hydrogen-assisted conventional explosions might generate shock waves that might initiate fusion, and much bigger explosions. Such were the claims of the Nazi-Argentinian physicist Dr. Ronald Richter (which I have covered in my book The Nazi International), and such have been some publicly aired claims since then for fusion reactors based on shockwaves in a plasma.  On this very speculative view and basis, one might then claim that hydrogen-assisted conventional explosives would be steps in a technology tree, if not to "clean" fusion bombs, then at least to conventional explosives  whose brisance approaches that of full order strategic fission weapons.

With these high octane speculations in mind, we may turn to the Chinese claims:

Quote:This month, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that Chinese researchers successfully detonated a non-nuclear hydrogen bomb in a controlled field test, citing a peer-reviewed study published last month in the Chinese-language Journal of Projectiles, Rockets, Missiles and Guidance.

But then the article continues by outlining the basic technique used to achieve the alleged result:

Quote:Developed by the China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s 705 Research Institute, the device uses magnesium hydride—a solid-state hydrogen storage material originally engineered for off-grid energy applications—as its main component.

During activation, shockwaves break the material into micron-scale particles, releasing hydrogen gas. This gas ignites into sustained combustion and reaches temperatures exceeding 1,000 degrees Celsius.

Unlike conventional TNT blasts, which produce a brief, extremely high-pressure shockwave, China’s new bomb creates a lower peak blast pressure but sustains its fireball for over two seconds, causing extended thermal damage and enabling directed energy effects.

In other words, the Chinese have combined a highly flammable material that burns at very high temperatures (magnesium), with a gas that can also burn quickly (hydrogen and the well-known Hindenburg disaster), and created a very powerful explosive that sustains a fireball - much like a nuclear weapon - for some time. The Chinese have opted to pursue option number one: they have effectively created a bomb very similar to a themobaric bomb in its effects, but via an unusual conventional explosive which carries its oxidizer with it. Lest anyone is in doubt about the explosive power of such weapons, the article also gives us this:

Quote:Michael Schmitt and Peter Barker mention in an April 2017 Just Security article that the US Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) weapon, originally designed to be used against large troop formations or hardened aboveground bunkers, was thought to have a potent effect on Islamic State (IS) morale due to its reported 1.6-kilometer blast and the fact its detonation creates a mushroom cloud similar to a nuclear weapon.

A blast zone of a diameter of 1.6 kilometers is a blast diameter of exactly a mile, and on the order of a small nuclear weapon.  These weapons are, indeed, game changers, for bombardment of targets at strategic distances and to strategic levels of destruction need no longer be done just with nuclear weapons. In fact, with contemporary precision guidance, landing such a massive conventional explosion precisely on target no longer requires megatonnage yields to get "close" to a target to do that sort of damage.


So China's claim here, I think, must be taken very seriously. The production of such weapons might, indeed, explain why those explosions in Chinese chemical factories of a few years ago were so gigantic and so  very destruction. And one wonders if such new types of conventional explosives are not steps in the technology trees towards things like the Ripple test of Operation Dominic. What might happen if some engineer in some black project somewhere manages to talk his government out of a few million dollars, or rubles, or yuan, or yen or rupees, to test an implosion device utilizing magnesium hydride around a lithium-deuteride core that is itself already under extreme pressure. Would such a device produce a full-order fusion reaction? Probably not. But it might kick the brisance up a notch or two and be worth the effort anything.

If I can think of it, and you can think of it, rest assured, they already have, and might be well on the way to the next generation of the technology. Iran's nuclear program?  Yesterday's news, and yesterday's concerns.
