I limit my news intake these days plus I stay out of a lot of the debates now with liberals (aka communists). I notice when I debate now after I or 2 days (you know those pages long discussions) I have to stop, and often for a week or more I'll have to stay away from discussions before debating again.
All of this IS too much - we are literally hit on every side, with every single issue that matters. No one can truly handle what it's become these days. And yes I absolutely agree with you it's by design so that people completely tune out.
For me I hang onto God (my Christian faith)very tightly, it really helps center me when the whole world seems like it's gone mad.
Also, when personal attacks begin I walk. Period. No point going further at that point - it's a win when all your opponent can do is start calling you names in the face of facts and truth.
Also, I can't go out running around the woods anymore but my window stays open and I get to look at and feel a part of the natural world.
In doing these things I keep a.) My sanity and b.) My sense of calm in the face of an information guerrilla war for the soul of the nations.
I absolutely believe limiting what we expose ourselves to in such a manner as to keep balanced is the only way to get through all this unscathed - and without becoming apathetic because our minds aren't made for what's going on, not this level.
