I believe the news reports of these occurrences are true, but I do not believe the MRFF reports are true. I'd say, from the way the MRFF releases are worded, that this is just another partisan attack, and I think the MRFF is probably "cooking up" their alleged reports coming out of the military.
In short, I think the MRFF is lying, and the news services reporting on it are being led astray, probably willingly.
Any "end times" or "armageddon" links would necessarily be following Islamic eschatology rather than Chrstian eschatology. For Iran to have a central role in it, that would be a verification of the "Black Flags from Khorasan" Islamic prophecies, not Christian prophecies.Fundamentalist Christians believe the battle will be in Israel, specifically in the Megiddo Valley ("har Megiddo", Anglicized via Greek as "Armageddon")
In the Christian eschatology, Islam doesn't factor into Armageddon at all. it can't, because when Revelations was written, Islam did not even exist.
Now personally, I believe the Bible vehemently talks AGAINST what so many Fundamentalist Christians believe about the "end times" and "Armageddon". But that's just me. They can believe whatever the hell they want, since they will have to answer to God for it, not me. I'm only responsible to answer for what I believe, not what they do. Their religion is between them and their god, and that goes for everyone. You can't order a person to worship YOUR god. There are specific laws and prohibitions against that sort of thing in the US.
But I believe a lot of "strange" stuff that is based on the Bible, not what some jackass tells me the Bible says. I've never trusted a preacher that discourages you from finding out for yourself, and I've never trusted a preacher that thinks he has to "interpret" the Bible for me in order for me to get it right. I can read, thanks very much.
Nor can I see military officers risking their entire careers by violating their oaths and violating the UCMJ. Officers are usually pretty protective of their gravy-train careers.
So, basically, I'd say that this is a partisan hack attack, and nothing will actually come of it. It's just political smoke and mirrors, with the smoke part being blown up our asses by political hacks.
