At night from my vantage on the top balcony which I visit generally at 2 or 3 am I have irregularly spotted objects on clear starry nights moving at speeds and changing course. Mostly in the northern aspect.
I also have a clear view to the west. About 3am I am outside on the balcony. To the WNW at an angle of about 30 degress above the highest hills was a very bright white star, which I thought was unusual but what got me was it was moving left to right and return like a pendulum.
Now, methinks my head or eyes are the cause and I held onto the railing to get a better focus. No other stars were moving. Then it stopped moving and shon very brightly. It increased in size then blinked out. The whole sighting went for about 45 seconds to a minute, One of those 'Yeah/Nah' events and probably my best sighting as to an object at night.
Told True Love about it who, agreeably, was nonplussed. I won't forget it and will surely be out there in the wee hours tomorrow with a phone camera if the skies are clear.
There are certainly some strange objects getting about and I hope to see more.
My kind regards,

The white lights are okay especially when over yonder, if they are yellow pucker up. 'Smokeless fire' is a good description.
