There are three powerful countries in Europe that still look upon their smaller neighbors with a 19th century mentality. Russia is one of them.
Russia has, since Putin assumed control, played a role of being something of a Weimar Republic, but armed with nuclear weapons. I realized over a decade ago the Cold War had never really ended. Given the outlook of the Russian state regarding neighbors, my prediction is that the Cold War never will really end, either.
