And those missiles are making it through their "Iron dome" (or whatever they call it). That 'iron dome' (thanks, USA) is cute and all, but it's not set up to deal with multiple threats at the same time, and it's not capable of dealing with any sustained multiple threat attack (which is exactly what they are experiencing now).
Some of those batteries take over an hour to reload after they fire 4-6 defensive missiles, AND the more missiles they're capable of firing the more crew and support they require, not to mention the logistics of moving them is considerably more difficult. It's a double edged sword. More missiles = more support resources, more logistics, bigger footprint, slow to move. Less missiles = faster to move, easier to become useless and just become a sitting duck target for airstrikes, drones or missiles. Then, they're out of not only the launchers, but the entire unit capability goes to zero in a minute. Tough choice.
There's an old saying about being a "paper tiger". There's also an old saying about an ant with a big mouth, and an alligator.
If a country (or their leader) wants to rattle the Ugly Stick, then they better have the ass to back it up! Otherwise, don't do it. I'm lookin' at you, Netanyahu.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Israeli people out in the streets protesting Netanyahu's actions over this. "We didn't want this!! We didn't ask for this!!"...and I'd say they have every right to say that. Of course, the Israeli media will shut that message down like the plague.
