@"727Sky"#11 - I watched a few minutes of 'Alien Trespass'. Looks like a fun movie. I'll have to come back and watch the rest of it.
Pretty good recreation / representation of a 1950's Science Fiction 'B' movie. It must be tough to recreate one of those movies, even just the forced acting and mannerisms. I love how well it fits into the..."so bad that it's good"...genre.
You can tell how the seasoned actors like Robert Patrick (Vern) struggle with the clunky, over dramatic, acting style which was the 1950's movie scene, whereas the more novice actors are naturals because they're still learning how to act on screen. I thought that was pretty cool to see.
Fun stuff.
edit - I was trying to remember what film Patrick is kind of famous for. He's the cop impersonator who is the alien sent to take out Ah-nold "I'll be back" Schwarzenegger in 'Terminator 2'.
edit 2 - I was reading some trivial factoids about the Alien Trespass film. They had to go through all sorts of technical gymnastics to make the film appear like a 1950's film shot on 35mm cellulose when most all modern cameras are now digital HD (or higher). This is what gives it that... 'in your face'... color saturated look ala 1950's. It's just the little technical stuff like that which makes films like this fun to watch. You could never film a movie like that on actual 35mm stock today. Even though the cameras are still available, the film, editing and processing, and effects, would have cost millions which digital gets around.
