One curious bit.
I read the original BUFORA article about the "Sam" encounter. Later, in the same issue, there was a mention of a fellow in Georgia in 1977 who saw a ship land and from which beings emerged.
They were also described as having very white skin and no necks, that is, the heads sat on their shoulders. As well, they were described as having "beautiful" clothing ... colorful, with frills, something like the children described regarding "Sam". And they had shoes with tips that turned up ... fae-like in a way.
