"They've" been trying for years to come up with any answer to this environmental disaster. I think "they" even put in a type of wave machine to try to clean up the water.
Currently the water is receding -- leaving dead fish and other garbage on the shoreline. Like I said - it's pretty to look at (from a distance) but keep your windows rolled up.
There are still people living there. Some have water front property.
Problem is the surrounding desert is farmland -- mostly growing vegetables for winter consumption. Water is already an issue for Southern CA.
