I'm a right-of-center conservative and normally question the federal authorities due to the high level of corruption and communist influences. I instinctively suspect the motivation of the government and politicians regardless of party affiliation. The progressive programs are the most suspicious to me, however, there is just as much propaganda and rhetoric on the far right, so I have to consider the uni-party theory to even out my political paranoia.
Each administration has been getting more extreme in its policies and overall agendas in a reactionary polarization that swings back and forth more forcefully with every major election. So, I find myself seeking the center more than the far end of the conservative right. I can only look back and forth and think that some good things have come from the extreme ends of the political spectrum and hope that eventually, the pendulum will settle at the center and we will become a well-adjusted moderate society. I have my doubts though.
It is well known that in these political power struggles, they always fight for twice as much ground so they can fall back to where they want to be when another administration comes in and undoes much of the work from the last one. This has become an extreme reactionary response when the parties are so polarized, but hopefully, this can act as a check and balance and keep both parties from becoming too extreme. It is the tranquility of the common people who are in between that is at stake here during this constant ideological battle between parties. If this became extreme enough, then this could lead to civil unrest and even rebellion.
