A Republican insider “close to the situation” told the Post that Mr. Soros could be making the election-year purchase in a bid to influence public opinion.

“This is scary,” the source said.
Audacy owns more than 220 stations across the country and in almost all major markets.

The debt buyout has alarmed conservatives, who have railed against Soros' multimillion dollar payouts to progressive political causes aligned with the Democratic Party.

One conservative X/Twitter account said the Hungarian-born financier will 'use the stations to attempt to influence voters in the coming elections'

'How long do you think that guy will allow all of those conservative radio stations to stay in operation?' added Stacy Washington, a right-of-center podcaster and commentator.

It's just the latest media investment for Soros, who became a bogeyman for US conservatives after throwing millions behind liberal District Attorneys' election campaigns.

Section 312 [47 U.S.C. §312] Administrative sanctions.

a)  The Commission may revoke any station license or construction permit –

(7)  for willful or repeated failure to allow reasonable access to or to permit purchase of reasonable amounts of time for the use of a broadcasting station, other than a non-commercial educational broadcast station, by a legally qualified candidate for Federal elective office on behalf of his candidacy.

(f)  For purposes of this section:

(1)  The term “willful”, when used with reference to the commission or omission of any act, means the conscious and deliberate commission or omission of such act, irrespective of any intent to violate any provision of this Act or any rule or regulation of the Commission authorized by this Act or by a treaty ratified by the United States.

(2)  The term “repeated”, when used with reference to the commission or omission of any act, means the commission or omission of such act more than once or, if such commission or omission is continuous, for more than one day.

Political Ads
A television or radio station cannot censor a campaign ad. But the broadcaster is not required to give free air time to a candidate unless it has given free air time to a different candidate. Since 1971, television and radio stations have been required to make a "reasonable" amount of time available to candidates for federal office. And they must offer those ads at the rate offered the "most favored" advertiser.

This rule is the result of a challenge from then-President Jimmy Carter (D-GA in 1980. His campaign request to buy ads was rejected by the networks for being "too early." Both the FCC and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Carter. This rule is now known as the "reasonable access" rule.

What Is The Equal Time Rule

You trust the FCC to do what is says it will do , what it should do?! Ha! We can't trust any of these three-letter agencies (FDA, CIA,FBI etc ) all corrupted to their core. It's all theater to keep the masses believing their taxes are still 'hard at work' to protect the bs American dream. It's all horseshit.
