I would highly highly recommend The Tutankhamun deception by Gerald O'farrell for intrigue and sculldugery! .
The hoard of Jewels from the cemetary of the APES ! at the time it sold to the rockefellers or Rothchild's for a half a million , how Carter had called Wallis Budge from New York to read papyrus scrolls from inside the kilts of sentinels in tomb Kv 62 and weeks later when budge was nearly in Egypt get told it was a mistake .
When Carter was fired from the dig the death mask we see today on display and marked as Tutankhamuns death mask was found hidden inside a crate of whisky uncatalogued and ready to be spirited away .
And all this from a man who took 10 years to catalogue the contents of that tomb ..
That above book will really open your eyes
It seems like I remember something about this in school. I'll put that book on my reading list. Thanks
There was so much mystery to the Egyptians. So much we still haven't figured out. And probably never will.
