No!, You're The VOICE! Aussie Referendum Talk!
Disclaimer: I'm a 50yr old gubba [aboriginal word for a white, hence 'government', guy] and I was BORN in Australia ok!
Explanation: There is going to be a federal political referendum on the 1st Nations Indigenous Voice To Parliament in Australia in October 2023.
And I would like to dispell some things about both the Yes and No campaigns about the Voice To Parliament ...
Firstly here are the online PDF pamphlets for both the Yes and No campaigns sourced from the Australian Electoral Commission ... [CAUTION: It's a PDF file, therefor load at your own risk ok!!!]
https://www.aec.gov.au/referendums/files....pdf?=v1.0
Personal Disclosure: I have read over 50+ news article about the Voice To Parliament in the past 3 weeks and I have partaken in a 2 hr long philosophical and political debate about it with up to 10 other Australians, held at the Woden Library here in Canberra, 1 week ago.
I AM A HARD NO VOTER! ... And here is why ...
It is this simple ... YOU ARE THE VOICE ... and through your LOCAL FEDERAL MEMBER, you have a say, aka A VOICE, in the FEDERAL AUSTRALIAN PARLIAMENT ALREADY!!!
https://www.directory.gov.au/commonwealt...sentatives
Hence there is NO NEED for the Indigenous Voice In Parliament level of redundancy, that will be limited to indigenous 1st nation people only, dividing the country along racial lines constitutionally forever more!
If that is not working then VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE!
“What we need in Canberra is ears, not a Voice.”
(Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price, Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australians and Warlpiri woman)
@All-Australians: We're ALL Australians, as covered by and under the Australian Constitution ALREADY! ...
https://www.aph.gov.au/constitution
This is regardless of ones race or culture, as Australia is both defacto multiracial and defacto multicultural in nature!
Some facts ...
Australia was CONSTITUTIONALLY Federated and formed in 1901 not 1788! So anything that happened prior to Federation is not covered by FEDERAL LAW!
Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders already receive more than their fair share of Federal tax funds ...
https://www.aph.gov.au/About_Parliament/...ousAffairs
Uncle [Former Prime Minister] Kevin Rudd already said SORRY to the Indigenous 1st Nation People, for past racist 'White Australia Policy' Human Rights injustice infractions against Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders!
https://www.nma.gov.au/defining-moments/...al-apology
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apology_to...us_peoples
So to summarize:- You are the VOICE, try and understand that ok ...
Please deeply consider Voting No! to keep Australia Fair Dinkum ok!
And if you got a big problem please contact your local Federal Member of Parliament and make them listen to you ... and if they don't listen to you, then to hell with them, vote them out at the next Federal election ok!
P.S. I wanted to also discuss the clash of cultures that Australia faces but I'll save that for another thread.

Quote:What is a federal member?
The term member of parliament generally refers to a member of the House of Representatives, although it can also refer to a senator. To become a member of parliament you need to win a seat in a federal election. There are a number of requirements for enrolling as a candidate in a federal election.
Quote:What does a local member of parliament do?
A Member is expected to be a spokesperson for local interests; an ombudsman and facilitator who deals with concerns about government matters; a law maker; an examiner of the work of the government and how it spends the money it raises from taxation; and a contributor to debates on national issues.
Hence there is NO NEED for the Indigenous Voice In Parliament level of redundancy, that will be limited to indigenous 1st nation people only, dividing the country along racial lines constitutionally forever more!

Quote:The Australian Government directly spends around 1.5 times as much on Indigenous people on a per-capita basis, or 1.64 times as much if indirect spending (via transfers to the states and territories) is included (calculation based on IER 2017 supplementary data tables).

Quote:[Verse 1]
We have the chance to turn the pages over
We can write what we want to write
We gotta make ends meet before we get much older
[Pre-Chorus]
We're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?
[Chorus]
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear, oh, woah
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah
[Verse 2]
This time, we know we all can stand together
With the power to be powerful
Believing we can make it better
[Pre-Chorus]
Ooh, we're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son, oh
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?
[Chorus]
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear, oh, woah
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah
[Pre-Chorus]
Ooh, we're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?
[Chorus]
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear, oh, woah
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear, oh, woah
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear, oh, woah
We're not gonna sit in silence
