General secretary of the Free Speech Union Toby Young warned: “Expect every pub in England and Wales to employ ‘banter cops’ who’ll be tasked with eavesdropping on customers’ conversations and barring anyone who tells an ‘inappropriate’ joke.”
Others warned that the law would have disastrous consequences for already struggling companies in Britain. Shadow Business Secretary, Conservative MP Kevin Hollinrake said that the “agenda is being driven by wokeness and the unions”.
“Ronald Reagan once said if fascism ever returns it will be in the name of liberalism. The people who are supposedly the greatest defenders of basic liberties and quite happy to jettison basic rights – be it over property, the rule of law and free speech – if it doesn’t accord with their own views.”

The potential introduction of speech police in pubs is just the latest attack on the industry by the leftist Labour government, which is pushing forward to ban smoking in outdoor areas such as in pub gardens. There have also reportedly been some within the government pushing for a new limit on pub hours to supposedly prevent alcohol-related illnesses.
Commenting on the attack on pubs, Reform UK MP Lee Anderson told The Express: “Once again this government are clamping down on free speech and hammering our publicans in the process.”
“With 50 pubs closing every month in the first half of this year, they need more support than ever not this nanny state nonsense.”
There have also been warnings that the proposed legislation would have a “chilling effect” on campuses as universities could potentially face lawsuits if students are offended by speakers who they disagree with. This comes after the Labour government already scrapped legislation specifically laying out protections for freedom of speech at universities.
Legal director at the law firm Doyle Clayton James Murray explained that the new law would likely mean controversial speakers would face even more difficulty speaking to students.
“If we think about a speaker that has been invited – say it’s a controversial gender critical speaker, like Julie Bindel or Kathleen Stock – someone might somewhat disingenuously say ‘I am an employee of this university and I find what she says deeply harassing’.
“The concern is that this will shift the balance away from free speech and universities will be more risk averse as they won’t want to be held liable for third-party harassment.”

Oh dear, it seems to be that those in the hallowed halls of Government who like to glean more expenses from
the public coffers and who enjoy a fine living arriving at conclusions that are palatable to those they allegedly
serve, have decided to begin a long-delayed inquiry into something that happened six years ago.

The story goes that former-Colonel Sergei Skripal was living a low-key life in the English town of Salisbury in
2018 and staying off the radar after being convicted by Russian authorities in 2006 of spying for Britain.

When the US swapped him and three others for undisclosed reasons in 2010, Skripal was sentenced to
thirteen years imprisonment by the Moscow Regional Military Court, but pardoned in the same year by
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

With the UK's MI6's assistance, Sergei Skripal -now devoid of rank, and with his wife moved to Salisbury and
continued to provide information to the UK and other Western intelligence agencies for some time afterwards.
His wife -Lyudmila, passed away in 2012 due to cancer and Sergei lived alone in a house he'd purchased a
year earlier in Salisbury. She was buried near their son -Alexander, who died in St Petersburg 2017, but he
was somehow transferred to the UK six years after the Skripals had decided to live in Salisbury.

in order to rest and this is where the true story began.

*Yulia Skripal flew into London's Heathrow Airport on a flight from Russia at about 14:40 GMT on 3 March.
*On 4 March, at about 13:40 GMT, Mr Skripal and his daughter arrived at the Sainbury's upper level car park

Basically, that was it for now. A pardoned ex-double agent had an attempt on his life by what was presumed
the Russian Government and his daughter was collateral damage. Those bad Ruskies had done it and after
some time, the pair recovered from something called 'Novichok'.

Where Sergei and Yulia went after this attempted poisoning, nobody knows and for a short time, the media
and ourselves resigned themselves on chewing with speculation. 'The poison was administered in the play-area
by someone passing the bench, the stuff was smeared on Sergei's front-door handle...' and on it went.
Yer' gotta keep those dwindling ratings going.

March marched on and it wouldn't be until late July of 2018, when two other characters stumbled onto this stage
of spy-craft intrigue, a brace of people not usually held in such regard by the BBC as appropriate players in their
usual  style of reporting.

Interesting video about Russia and a possible Civil War. With all the ethnic groups and diverse land areas I am surprised that with what remains of the great strong arm of the Soviet union it has kept the country together as well as it has.

Knowing I had all the ingredients available, I wanted to bake some bread from scratch today. My go-to cookbook is the old Better Homes and Gardens one. I couldn't find that cookbook so I thought I'd jog my memory and look up some basic bread recipes.

I looked at a half dozen recipes, averaged the measure of ingredients, and put together the various directions based on what I remembered from the BH&G Cookbook. The following recipe is what I came up with after baking two loaves just now.

Basic White Flour Bread Recipe


Cooking Implements:

2 bread pans
A large mixing bowl and mixing spoon
A measuring cup
A teaspoon and tablespoon
A rolling pin
A cooking thermometer
A clock, watch, or cooking timer.
A clean surface to work on
An oven large enough to bake two loaves of bread.


Ingredients:

5 cups all-purpose white flour
2 tablespoons active dry yeast
2 cups warm water not over 110°F
2 - 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, vegetable oil or butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt


Directions:

Mix the yeast, sugar, and water in the mixing bowl and set aside for about 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes stir in 2 tablespoons oil, and one teaspoon salt. Now slowly add flour to the liquid and mix
thoroughly until the dough stiffens and pulls away from the bowl.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, flatten it into a circular shape with a rolling pin,
and knead for about 5 minutes.
Knead It by folding the far edge of the dough back over on itself
and pushing it down with the palms of your hands. Rotate and repeat.
Clean the mixing bowl and grease it with a few drops of oil or nonstick baking spray.
Knead the dough again for another few minutes, form it into a ball, then return it to the bowl,
making sure to grease the top of the dough ball.
Cover with a damp towel and keep warm until the dough doubles in size (about 1 hour in a room at 80F).
Punch down the dough with your fists and briefly knead out any air bubbles.
Cut the dough in half & shape it into two loaves (cylinder-shaped with ends pinched down).
Place the loaves in two greased bread pans, cover them with a damp towel,
and keep them in a warm place to rise. Once the dough rises just above the top of the pan (this may take 45 minutes at 80F room temperature), begin baking.
Bake at 400F for about 20 minutes until the loaves are golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Allow bread to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Total time from start to finish: Around 3 hours.

What can't be portrayed as an emergency? This time, they took their request for more power to the UN General Assembly on Sept. 22-23. The United Nations adopted a 66-page document called "The Pact for the Future." It was passed through a new procedure called the "Silence Procedure.''


This procedure made it a pact. If no one objected enough to argue against it, it was on the record as automatically adopted. Apparently, 193 countries, including the United States, expressed no objection. The problem is that without defining an emergency, the UN gets to decide what an emergency is, which gives it unlimited power. National sovereignty is destroyed. A world government, with the only limitations being those it imposes on itself, rules.


Congressional warning of the United Nations' intent to unilaterally end national sovereignty came only from Republicans. They gathered on the grounds of the Capitol, hoping the national media (mostly controlled by the Deep State) would cover them. Party leaders intentionally did so on September 17, Constitution Day, the anniversary of our signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787, which brought freedom from excessive government to us and those nations modeling it. Our constitution governs this nation and is a gift from God that cannot be trumped by government. Unless resisted -- and Biden/Harris did not -- what happened at the UN is a fatal blow to freedom and our constitution.


Some remarks regarding this mostly secret UN empowerment follow: Congressman Bob Good of Virginia reminded those on the grounds of the Capitol that President Trump had pulled us out of the WHO because it was working for world government, which Joe Biden reinstated and today fully supports. Good quoted from a chapter in the 66-page document "Summit for the Future's" website "called 'On transforming global governance ascending beyond the powers being sought by a subordinate agency,' the WHO, the UN is seeking even broader and more powerful authority," adding "they seek to facilitate the evolution of the UN from an international cooperative body to an international governing body." He said, "The American people didn't vote for this, and they don't support this."


Congressman Ralph Norman, South Carolina, "called on Donald Trump to 'draw out' of Kamala Harris 'whether or not she supports world government, and if she doesn't, for her to disavow what the Biden administration is doing right now to try to bring it about.'"
An unnamed congressman said, "They want to cede our sovereignty over to the United Nations and, in particular, the World Health Organization." He spoke of our annual assessments of $850 million to the WHO "to become enslaved to them." We need out.

 Why? "Because the World Health Organization has become captured by 'our international adversary, China.'" And, "We can't give up any more of our sovereignty."


Congressman Ronnie Jackson voiced what everyone probably felt: "With regard to the United Nations, I said it before, and I'll say it again. I think the best thing we can do for the United Nations is to go to New York and push the entire thing off into the East River."


Yet another unnamed Congresswoman said, "They are going to approve a platform, an emergency platform that will operationalize automatically. What does it mean to operationalize automatically? It means that once they have passed it through the United Nations, they don't have to ask other countries to approve it. They will just go forward with their protocols."


Another unnamed congressman identified likely emergencies to follow: "Pandemics, high impact events involving a biological agent, disruptions to global flows of goods, people or finance, disruptive activity in cyberspace, or disruption to global digital connectivity, major events in outer space, or black swan events." This leads to their getting "involved pretty much whenever and wherever they want to" (House Republicans Rally Against --The UN & World Health Organization to protect American Sovereignty, live press conference on Capitol grounds, Sept. 17, 2024). Countries, as ruling governments, will become virtually obsolete.

The Philippine eagle (Pithecopaga jefferyi) is the largest in the world, and it snacks on monkeys. With its unique blue-gray eyes this apex predator can spot prey as far as 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) away. And this magnificent bird of prey is incredibly rare, with only 392 pairs left in existence.
This deadly hunter stands 3 feet (approx. 1 meter) tall—the average size of a 3-year-old human child—and has a wingspan of 7 feet (2.1 meters), just short of the length of a Mini Cooper car. The eagle’s dagger-like talons mean it can easily swoop down and carry off prey, including monkeys, little pigs, and small dogs.
Described as the country’s top predator, the Philippine eagle lives across four islands: Leyte, Luzon, Mindanao, and Samar, with the majority living in the rugged jungle habitat of Mindanao, according to EDGE of Existence.

“The Justice Department announced today that it has filed a lawsuit against the State of Virginia, Virginia State Board of Elections and Virginia Commissioner of Elections to challenge a systematic state program aimed at removing voters from its election rolls too close to the Nov. 5 general election in violation of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA),” the DOJ announced.
“Section 8©(2) of the NVRA, also known as the Quiet Period Provision, requires states to complete systematic programs aimed at removing the names of ineligible voters from voter registration lists no later than 90 days before federal elections. The Quiet Period Provision applies to certain systematic programs carried out by states that are aimed at striking names from voter registration lists based on a perceived failure to meet initial eligibility requirements — including citizenship — at the time of registration,” the DOJ said.
“As the National Voter Registration Act mandates, officials across the country should take heed of the law’s crystal clear and unequivocal restrictions on systematic list maintenance efforts that fall within 90 days of an election,” said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. “By cancelling voter registrations within 90 days of Election Day, Virginia places qualified voters in jeopardy of being removed from the rolls and creates the risk of confusion for the electorate. Congress adopted the National Voter Registration Act’s quiet period restriction to prevent error-prone, eleventh hour efforts that all too often disenfranchise qualified voters. The right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy and the Justice Department will continue to ensure that the rights of qualified voters are protected.”
The lawsuit comes two months after Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin ® issued an executive order that codifies election security procedures to protect the 2024 election against intentional fraud.
Governor Youngkin’s policies include:
** We use 100% paper ballots with a strict chain of custody.
** We use counting machines, not voting machines, that are tested prior to every election and never connected to the internet.
** We do not mass mail ballots.
** We monitor our drop boxes 24/7.
** We verify the legal presence and identity of voters using DMV data and other trusted data sources to update our voter rolls daily.
Governor Glenn Youngkin responded to the DOJ’s lawsuit:
