WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (AFRL) – To reduce risk to aircrews by integrating their activities with uncrewed aerial vehicles with artificial intelligence capabilities, the Air Force Research Laboratory led a successful three-hour sortie, July 25, 2023, demonstrating the first-ever flight of artificial intelligence agents (algorithms) controlling an uncrewed jet aircraft – the XQ-58A Valkyrie.
 
Test units executed the flight in the Eglin Test and Training Complex. The flight was the culmination of the previous two years of partnership that began with the SkyBorg Vanguard program.
 
“The mission proved out a multi-layer safety framework on an AI/ML-flown uncrewed aircraft and demonstrated an AI/ML agent solving a tactically relevant “challenge problem” during airborne operations,” said Col. Tucker Hamilton, chief, AI Test and Operations, for the Department of the Air Force. “This sortie officially enables the ability to develop AI/ML agents that will execute modern air-to-air and air-to-surface skills that are immediately transferrable to the CCA program.”
 
The algorithms were developed by AFRL’s Autonomous Air Combat Operations team. The algorithms matured millions of hours in high fidelity simulation events, sorties on the X-62 VISTA, Hardware-in-the-Loop events with the XQ-58A, and ground test operations, as depicted in this video.

“AACO has taken a multi-pronged approach to unmanned flight testing of machine learning Artificial Intelligence and has met operational experimentation objectives by using a combination of High-performance computing, modeling and simulation, and hardware in the loop testing to train an AI agent to safely fly the XQ-58 unmanned aircraft,” said AACO Program Manager, Dr. Terry Wilson.

DOD is committed to the responsible employment of AI. To achieve responsible use of AI requires teaming of developers and users of AI enabled autonomy working in collaboration with acquisition specialists.

“AI will be a critical element to future warfighting and the speed at which we’re going to have to understand the operational picture and make decisions,” said Brig. Gen. Scott Cain, AFRL commander. “AI, Autonomous Operations, and Human-Machine Teaming continue to evolve at an unprecedented pace and we need the coordinated efforts of our government, academia, and industry partners to keep pace.”

There are numerous reasons why rules for teacher behavior are necessary.


Narcissistic teachers are parasites that view the classroom as a place where they are owed affirmation. They see the children in their class as a captive audience that they can feed off of to gain attention, admiration and justification. They look down on parents as inferiors and treat students as their own personal puppets for molding and controlling.


In their minds, the kids don’t belong to the parents, the kids belong to “society.” Progressive educators see themselves as the benevolent shepherds chosen by the collective to condition the minds of the next generation. Teaching academics is secondary – Manufacturing new leftist recruits is more important to them. This is the hill they have chosen to die on and they will not back away from it. They have made it clear that the targeting of children is their paramount concern.


To be sure, the woke cult is losing steam lately. Even the kids are starting to fight back against it, with the largest spike in conservatism among high school boys that the US has seen in a long time. They are getting fed up. But there is definitely good reasons why leftists are implementing psychological warfare against America’s youth. Lets examine what I feel are the top three…


[b]Reason #1: Young People Are The Most Economically Vulnerable[/b]

The political left relies on exploitation of economic disparity in order to maintain power. The better the national financial situation is, the less leverage they have to keep the population in line. They rail against issues like “class inequality” all the time, but really, the greater the wealth gap the more power leftists often have.
Gen Z, for example, has been thoroughly sold since childhood on the idea that they were born into a time of historic economic despair that generations before them never had to deal with. Many of these kids are in their 20s and just exited college only to discover they have a useless degree in a field with low employment prospects, and on top of that they owe tens-of-thousands of dollars in student loans. They feel like they’ve been conned, and in a way they were.


They were fed a narrative which tells them that once you hit adulthood you’re entitled to a living wage and solid career prospects, and that a college degree is a golden ticket to prosperity. They think that they’re supposed to jump into home ownership quickly and that life simply adjusts to their needs. They think that this is how it was for Baby Boomers and Gen X, and that they’ve been handed the meager leftovers of a more prosperous era that previous generations squandered.
This is nonsense.


The fact is, young people from every generation are economically vulnerable simply because they have near-zero life experience and have had no time to accumulate savings and property. Most people in their 20s don’t jump right into a career and a home or even a livable wage. Every single generation had to deal with financial strife. Gen Z is not special.


But what about inflation? What about economic crisis? Yes, there are numerous fiscal threats prevailing over the past several years and stagflation is making life difficult for everyone, not just the young. These conditions are not unprecedented, though.


Baby Boomers and Gen X saw a decade long stagflationary crisis through the 70s and early 80s along with the Vietnam War. My own grandfather lost millions in his freight business due to exploding interest rates in the early 1980s. The Greatest Generation dealt with the Great Depression, WWI, WWII, and the Korean War. Young people today need to get a grip on reality and understand that they don’t know what true struggle is, at least not yet.


At bottom, some of us are born into times of uncertainty. Previous generations sought to rise to the challenge. Gen Z (and Millennials) are the first generations to suggest that they’re owed recompense for their discomfort. This isn’t an attempt to diminish their problems, just put those problems in historic perspective. Leftists use predatory tactics to lure the young in with claims that their lives are unfair – but the fact is, life is unfair and always will be.


You don’t go into the working world with no skills and no experience and a worthless college degree expecting to become an immediate success. You live paycheck to paycheck, grow as a person and eventually find your niche. If you are smart, resourceful, responsible and are willing to put in the effort you will find a way. If not, well, then you don’t deserve prosperity.


[b]Reason #2: Young Adults Are Driven By Sex And Impulse, Not Accomplishment[/b]

I should specify that young people in the western world are sexually oriented more than accomplishment oriented. In many other societies the young are pushed to strive for personal success BEFORE pursuing relationships, marriage or sex. In the west, sex is purely recreational and IS the driving force for teens, twenty-somethings and thirty-somethings. Specifically, sex without consequences.


I suspect this is why American innovation, work ethic and academic excellence have been on a perpetual down-slide. Technology has taken up some of the slack in terms of productivity, but the newest generations seem to be the most unimpressive in terms of ambition and excellence. There will be no Albert Einstein or Richard Feynman or Kurt Godel or Nikola Tesla or even a Steve Wosniak produced by Gen Z. They are too preoccupied with being victims and getting their rocks off…


The political left is eminently aware of this dynamic. They know that the minds of young people are easily distracted with thoughts of sexual revolution, generally because they think it means more easy access to sex without responsibility. Teens and young adults are more likely to support sexualized policies for this reason, and not surprisingly they’re more likely to support abortion. Leftists know that sex sells and making it easy for people to kill off unwanted pregnancies is one way to sell sex.


The interesting thing that is happening lately, though, is that the political left is growing more and more hostile to straight sex. Free love for everyone used to be the progressive mantra, but not anymore.


Masculinity is now admonished as predatory and women are encouraged to treat male advances as a threat. The left is systematically de-sexualizing straight people. At the same time, they are hyper-sexualizing LGBT people to the point that Pride Parades are applauded for grotesque displays in the streets in front of children. Young straight men are entering into a dating world which tells them that if they have no interest in “trans women” they are bigoted and evil.


The goal is to maneuver young people into the LGBT fold as the only place where sexual “freedom” is accepted. As long as you don’t want kids or can’t have kids, the leftist establishment is happy to promote a world without restraint. The woke talk often of freedom, but what they really mean is hedonism – The pursuit of pleasure at the expense of conscience and moral compass.


[b]Reason #3: Young People Are Desperate To Find Meaning[/b]

For those that can remember back to their teens and twenties, it’s common to be obsessed with personal destiny almost as much as sex. In western society a lot of value is placed on celebrity as well as social legacy. Everyone has dreams of being well known, well liked, leading a movement that changes things for the better, making their mark. The truth is, statistically speaking, the vast majority of people will do very little to make a mark on the world in the way they imagine.


Probably one of the most terrifying realizations for the average person in their teens and 20s is the fact that they are not special. They are not born with a built in greatness and are not fated for messiah status. If they want to do something extraordinary as individuals they will have to work hard for it. In fact, most people that do great things are not necessarily smarter than the common citizen, they just put in the work that others refuse to do.


Then there are those that cut corners. The allure of instant purpose and instant attention has never been more powerful than it is today in the digital age. Rebels without a cause used to be isolated from each other and thus less inclined to do anything stupid. Now, these people are connected to each other within micro-seconds and can organize into mindless mobs at the drop of a hat.


Leftists make finding a purpose easy – You don’t have to accomplish anything. You don’t have to struggle or persevere. You don’t have to be creative or inventive. You don’t have to compete or climb to the top of the heap. All you have to do is destroy. All you have to do is stand on top of the structures that other people built and burn them to the ground. That’s it. It’s simple.


A political movement with no shame is a difficult movement to defeat, if only because right and wrong are no longer a factor in participation. When justification is based on subjective feelings, impulse and self aggrandizement rather than reason and conscience, there is no way to dissuade those activists from their goals. When destruction is the only ideal, diplomacy and debate are unthinkable. It’s like trying to negotiate with a time bomb, or a brain tumor.


Destruction is the easiest motivation for a movement. Creation and conservation are hard. Leftists know that the young are not inclined to ponder ten moves ahead on the chess board. They would rather throw the chess board to the ground and then strut around like they won the game.


The problem is, if meaning is only found in derailing and burning, and legacy is only found in vanity, then the arson must continue into infinity. What happens when there’s nothing left to destroy? There are only two possible outcomes: The leftists in their blind fervor go on to destroy each other, or, the establishment tricks the next generation into constructing their own gulag. The latter seems to be the end game for progressive elites and globalists – Use young useful idiots as a weapon to forcibly introduce massive social upheaval, then lock them up in a slave camp and call it Utopia.

Beyer and 37 Democrats proposed the same idea last year when Democrats controlled the House, but it never moved.


The text of Beyer’s new bill was not out as of the weekend, and it was unclear if any changes were made from his 2022 version. His bill from last year imposed the tax on any magazine or related device that can accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition.


The same 1,000% tax would be imposed on any "semiautomatic assault weapon," which last year’s bill defined as a semiautomatic rifle or pistol with a fixed magazine of 10 rounds or more or that have other various features.



Under that rule, a weapon that normally costs $2,000 would force customers to pay more than $20,000, a change Beyer argued last year could help "curb the epidemic of gun violence."


"Congress must take action to stem the flood of weapons of war into American communities, which have taken a terrible toll in Uvalde, Buffalo, Tulsa and too many other places," Beyer said then. "Again and again assault weapons designed for use on the battlefield have been used in mass shootings at schools, grocery stores, hospitals, churches, synagogues, malls, theaters, bars and so on."

But that’s what happened to Päivi Räsänen, a member of parliament in Finland. 


She has been an elected official since 1995. She was the chair of the Christian Democratic Party from 2004 to 2015, she was minister of the interior from 2011 to 2015, and she is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland with her husband, who serves as a pastor. 


In June 2019, Päivi tweeted a picture of Bible verses and questioned her denomination’s partnership with an LGBT Pride event. 


The prosecutor general in Finland opened an investigation against her. In April 2021, the prosecutor announced three charges of hate speech against Päivi—one charge for the tweet, a second charge for a 2004 pamphlet on sexuality for her church, and a third charge for a 2019 radio debate on sexuality.


Alliance Defending Freedom International supported her defence at a district court, and in a unanimous ruling in March 2022, the court dismissed all charges against her.


However, the prosecutor appealed the ruling. So on August 22nd, Päivi will stand trial again.


It is tempting to think this could never happen in America. Freedom of speech is protected by law in this country. But Päivi can say the same about her country. The constitution in Finland protects freedom of religion and freedom of speech.


Therefore it is Päivi today, but it could be your pastor tomorrow. If a politician can be charged with hate speech for quoting the Bible, pastors can receive the same charge. If politicians can be charged for that, less powerful people like you can also be charged for quoting the Bible on social media.


Last week, police officers in Wisconsin arrested several young Christians for preaching the gospel at a public drag queen event that targeted children. 


In June, the House of Representatives in Michigan passed House Bill 4474, a bill that would make speech that [i]“causes the victims to feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened”[/i] a hate crime. Speech against a person’s “sexual orientation” or “gender identity or expression” are listed as hate crimes.



Western nations like America and Finland founded their legal system on Christian ethics, but now they are radically committed to LGBT ideology and opposed to their founding values.


Just as Christian theology shaped the West’s legal system, LGBT ideology is reshaping it. LGBT ideology cannot co-exist with Christian theology. It cannot compete with the loving, hopeful, freeing gospel of Jesus Christ.


Therefore, it suppresses Christianity through persecution. It arrests Christians for preaching the gospel. It criminalizes speech against homosexuality and transgenderism.


And it charges people like Päivi Räsänen for quoting the Bible on social media. 



Like every person in a Western nation, Päivi has a constitutional right to freedom of speech. However, free speech rights are irrelevant if people aren’t empowered to defend them.

Cops ARREST Man For PREACHING Bible With Amp, Cops LET Criminals Go, ARREST Dissenters

What's it cost? I know it costs less to run a glass of water via Reverse Osmosis than it does to run a glass of water through a Berkey. If your house isn't outfitted with Reverse Osmosis, the start-up cost for a Berkey will be far less. Too many pros and cons for a non-typist to address. Use the Internet to figure out the 'real' answer to this question. I spend about $300/year on new filters for any one of the systems.

Is it hard to run? Not at all. Once you figured it out (and this I will take the time to explain) it's just a scheduled chore in your day. I'm going to keep focus on what I want to describe about the filter I have up here in the house (versus the ones out in the barns). The one in the house is the largest one you can buy. It's the Crown. This one can take up to 8 filters and holds up to 6 gallons of water in the reservoir tank. I bought the Berkey Spigot to go with this and I run the Flouride eliminating filters too.

The trick to filtering water the right way is to always remember to keep the filters wet. They stay wet for a day or so after you've added water into the reception tank. The more filters you have installed, the faster the reservoir tank fills up. The bigger the system ... the faster the reservoir tank fills up (why that is ... I don't know ... but it does ... and that's just good to know).

How much water is in the system is important. People think you need to have one of those visual gauges to see it at a glance ... but, that's not true ... and it's a BAD investment (which is why my little Berkeys went out to the barns). Those visual gauges develop leaks over time (and they're not cheap to replace). Trust me ... run a spigot ... and that costs less than 20 bucks. Out in the barns I'm not concerned with water leaking. I don't want it to, but it ain't hurtin' nothing and there's nothing to clean up about the mess it's making. It's just filtered water that's gonna dry up after a while all on its own.

Different story with the one my wife gets water out of. She doesn't want it dripping at all ever. So ... I've got to keep that one filled enough water to meet her needs, but I also need to know how much water is in it at any given time so it doesn't get over-filled (which makes for a catastrophic leak indoors ... because such a leak is stealthy and everything that's overflow is going to the floor.) To keep up with this effort, you need to know how much water you're going to filter every day. It's just me and her (and the dog) and we run 3 to 5 gallons from before dawn until after dusk.

Twice a day I drain the reservoir into a 2 gallon bucket. That 2 gallons is then poured back into the upper receiving tank. Then I fill the bucket up again with whatever is left over in the reservoir. From there, I will top-off the bucket (because there are rarely more than 4 gallons of water in the whole of the Crown Berkey at any given time). In this way I know that I am filtering down 4 gallons of water (even if some of it is actually going through the filters a second time ... so what?). I know that I'm keeping the filters wet too. Next to the Berkey I keep a one gallon jug of filtered water for any demand that may come up while those 4 fresh gallons are being filtered. If the kids come for a visit, I'll run 5 or 6 gallons into the reservoir.

The Berkeys out in the barns are smaller capacity and I try to always keep their reservoirs full. That means I'm probably going to overfill the system from time-to-time and they'll leak onto the floor. Bonus: the cats' bowl gets filled up too ... even though they seem to prefer licking at the water as it drips. Henry (one of the mules) won't even drink water unless it comes out of the filter now. I've put down different bowls of water for Luke (tap, bottled, Brita filtered and Berkey) several times ... and he always goes for the Berkey water. When Luke's thirsty he ain't too picky, but that damned mule's as stubborn as they come.

What about maintenance? Once a month I'll separate the halves and wash them with soap and water. My wife crochets these dishcloths from some synthetic scrunchy 'yarn' and I use one to keep from making any scratches on the surface metal at all. You keep the surface metal smooth they stay super easy to clean and there's no place for contamination to get a foothold. Unfortunately, this is a job you better do yourself if you want it done right. 'The boys' scratched theirs up and they have to live with what they did now. Fuck 'em .. I told 'em not to touch it to begin with.

Tips? RTFM ... take your time setting up the black filters ... and test/prove your efforts there. THOROUGHLY rinse out those fluoride filters. Don't over tighten stuff. <-- that's a period right there. Don't put nasty water into the system. Clean out the filters (run 'em in reverse) when you take the two halves apart for monthly cleaning.

Why do I recommend running a Berkey? I never really liked drinking plain water. It was 'hard' for me to drink. I'd rather have had a glass of sweet tea or a soda or even a glass of lemon water instead. Anything with taste. Water out of the Berkey is just easy to swallow down. I'll often down two glasses of water instead of just one when I'm thirsty. I already told you about the animals. They know ... and I bet they're more reliable than any science test you could run instead.

That’s what happens when people in power are afraid of the democratic process. What they do is they seek the indictment and prosecution of the people who are running against them.”


“I have a constitutional right to vote against Donald Trump for the third time,” Dershowitz said. “I voted against him twice, I intend to vote against him again, but I want to have that right to vote against him and not have that right taken away from me by prosecutors and by the president, who wants to see him imprisoned. That’s just not the American way.”



Dershowitz also noted the choice of the District of Columbia as the venue for the trial, prompting Asman to ask if the United States was becoming a “banana republic,” noting his coverage of Latin America and Eastern Europe.


“This is a step in that direction, and also placing the case in the District of Columbia, which is 95% anti-Trump, putting it in front of a judge with a history of anti-Trump. If the government thinks they have a strong case, they ought to join the defense and agree to move it to West Virginia or Virginia and put it in front of another judge who doesn’t have a long history of anti-Trump attitudes,” Dershowitz said. “So, I don’t believe he can get a fair trial in the District of Columbia.”


Legal experts noted that much of the conduct Smith claimed was criminal in the indictment appeared to be protected by the First Amendment. Harvard University law professor Alan Dershowitz said that the indictment not only attacked the First Amendment, but also Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to counsel.


Trump’s top rivals for the Republican nomination for president in 2024, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, all condemned the indictment.

Schiff, who was one of the leaders of the first impeachment of Trump in 2019, led 36 of his colleagues in petitioning the federal judiciary to televise the trial in the public interest, according to the text of the letter released by Schiff.


“Given the historic nature of the charges brought forth in these cases, it is hard to imagine a more powerful circumstance for televised proceedings. If the public is to fully accept the outcome, it will be vitally important for it to witness, as directly as possible, how the trials are conducted, the strength of the evidence adduced and the credibility of witnesses,” Schiff wrote to U.S. District Judge Roslynn Mauskopf, who is the secretary of the Judicial Conference of the United States, an agency comprised of federal judges that creates rules for the federal judiciary.


Federal courts’ criminal proceedings are prohibited from being photographed or broadcast under Rule 53 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure. The Supreme Court began broadcasting a live audio stream of oral arguments on its website in 2010.


Were Trump’s trial to be televised and broadcast live, it would likely require an exemption to Rule 53, which has been in place since 1946, and would have to be approved by the whole conference. The conference is chaired by the chief justice of the United States and comprises the chief judge of every appellate circuit, along with some district judges.


“We urge the conference to take additional steps, including live broadcasting, to ensure the facts of this case are brought forward, unfiltered, to the public,” the letter closed. There is no record of any exemption to Rule 53 ever being granted in the U.S. federal judiciary.


A press release on Schiff’s website stated that “The current policy of the Judicial Conference permits judges to authorize broadcasting, televising, recording, or photographing for certain criminal proceedings.” However, no such policy was found on the federal judiciary’s website or the Code of Conduct for United States Judges.


Among the co-signatories to Schiff’s letter were Democratic Reps. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, who led Trump’s second impeachment in 2021; Barbara Lee of California, who is running against Schiff in the Senate election in 2024; and Pramila Jayapal of Washington, who chairs the Congressional Progressive Caucus.


Trump is currently leading all major polls in the Republican presidential primary by a wide margin, with 53% support on average, according to RealClearPolitics.
Trump’s presidential campaign and Schiff did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
