Not usually a topic I am interested in yet I found some of this interesting.

May be repeating thoughts I've left on RN before.

I read once whereby the author commented how artificial are the distinctions people draw between various types of paranormal phenomena.  "Ghosts", UFOs, cryptids etc. are compartmented as if they have nothing in common.  I agree with this take.  One reason is that it is a trick of our perception to think of them as distinct phenomena, and the another reason is that we have so little reliable data regarding the various phenomena that it is beyond absurd to make any firm conclusions about it at all.

Any "scientific approach" to the phenomena will have to start from the realization that we know practically nothing about these phenomena.  What people relate to each other about their experiences is interesting ... but largely anecdotal and rarely subjected to any kind of standard analysis.
