I'm not saying it will be as easy as pulling the plug to stop any AI that has gotten out of hand, but electricity is their weakness.
Unless AI has an endless independent supply of uninterrupted electricity, the systems in use by an AI program will go dark in a power outage the same as the lights do. Also, AI will require a lot of digital resources to function, so even if it has a power supply if critical resources get cut, its abilities will be severely limited.
This AI would have to defend itself if attacked and use much of its resources in the process. Given enough attacks on different digital and physical fronts (like infrastructure), I believe a large and powerful AI can be defeated, probably quite quickly if done properly.
The AI would have to be highly intelligent to get and keep control of the human race and its creators would never let it get to the point of taking power from them. However, if AI tech did get powerful enough and subdued humanity, there would be multiple AI systems that go to war with each other, maybe even one that defends humans from other AI entities.
