Meet Nebuchadnezzar

My heart just leaped in my chest and I found myself laughing to the sound of my Mother laughing. I walked out to the porch to find my Mother watching Nebuchadnezzar zipping around like a tiny black tornado, and playing "Tag You Are It", with my Mom. That little Bad Baby has a way of sneaking his way deep into your heart.

I had no clue what I was getting myself into when I picked that little skinny, sunburned, starving, ball of rusty black fur up from the side of the road back on July 3rd, 2023.

My mother will be ninety years old next year. She was diagnosed with cancer three months ago. They are trying to work up a treatment plan that is not too aggressive and will not be taxing for her. I love her doctor's approach. He says that he does not want to take away one second of comfort from her, but he was not going to pretend he knew God's plans either. He said just because she was going on 90, he was not going to treat her like her time is up, for all he knows she may be destined to live longer than him.

I love the sound of her laughter. I hope that I will hear it for a long time to come. I appreciate the joy Nebuchadnezzar seems to give her, and the sounds of laughter he brings forth in our home.

So Bad Baby is truly an angel in disguise in my book.
