July 11, 1953, Maj. John Bolt shot down two MiGs while flying an F-86E Sabre to become the only U.S. Marine to achieve ace status in two wars and the only Marine jet fighter ace. During WWII, he became an ace as a VMF-214 "Black Sheep". He had 12 total victories during his career.
July 11, 1962: The world’s first satellite television broadcast took place using Telstar. The satellite’s first broadcast involved relaying an image of a flag outside its base station at Andover Earth Station to the Pleumeur-Bodou earth station in France. I wonder what happened to all of the groundbreaking Anti Gravity research done by aerospace corps post WWII? I wonder if many of these projects went black and eventually became operational and for cover the many manufactured sightings to further the 'space alien' UFO myth. If we counted all of the programs they spent billions upon billions on only later to cancel those programs we’d be talking trillions of dollars of funding wasted..except it perhaps wasn't wasted. Buried from the public at the start of the Cold War and assigned to private compartmentalized entities.
