I also have noticed weird lightning over the last few years.
Two thoughts.
One: man made lightning? It's certainly a possibility they are experimenting with lightning.
Two: (this is my weird one) "Beams of light." Could it be more "fallen angels" thing?

I believe I've witnessed "man-made lightning" recently. I've seen too many weird lightning shows lately. Lightning, like I've never seen before. I think they are really starting to mess with our weather.
