Probably not the Apocalypse, but animals have been known to exhibit strange behavior leading up to natural occurrences such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, violent storms, etc. More than likely however is that it's just sheep being sheep- that's why we call folks that just blindly follow the crowd with out thought as to why "sheeple".
As an American it's your responsibility to have your own strategic duck stockpile. You can't expect the government to do it for you.
