I saw video of chunks of concrete, steel, and what-not flying hundreds of meters, splashing down in the ocean. That cannot be conducive to a healthy launch vehicle clearing the tower without damage.
I briefly heard about the launch pad yesterday and that the damage was done by just 2 or 3 rocket engines; not all 5 engines had powered up. Elon may want to research Roman concrete. lol.
