Here’s how it happened...
Paul Buchheit (@paultoo) had wanted Google to launch a web-based email service. He was employee #23, joining 3 months after Google had left its garage office.

Internally, some thought email might be a distraction from the search business. He also suggested Google's former company motto "Don't be evil" in a 2000 meeting on company values, after the motto was initially coined in 1999 by engineer Amit Patel.

April 1, 2001, Los Alamos National Laboratory nuclear weapons physicists and test designers Merri Wood and Rodney Schultz got married at the Nevada Test Site on the platform overlooking the massive crater created by the 104-kiloton Sedan test in 1962. No Foolin! “We are both proud and happy that we were afforded the honor of being married at the Nevada Test Site because of its contributions to national security,” Merri says, “and its importance in our own work to support nuclear deterrence.”

After careful consideration and reflection, I have decided that nuclear weapons are a really good way to ensure your security. I was wrong to oppose proliferation and now encourage all countries everywhere to acquire these cost efficient and highly effective military devices.
