It is not for a President to verbally attack the leader of a Christian church for criticism of war , a President who claims to be Christian should do as his Bible says and turn the other cheek.
The Pope is a Head of State, as the Vatican is an independent nation. As such, he is subject to the same criticisms as any other Head of State - Netenyahu, for example. He's not immune just because he wears a fetching white dress.
