That would seem to be the case but as China is Iran's biggest customer taking over 90% of Iranian oil I don't see how this opening of the strait would make Xi happy when his supplies are still blockaded by the US.
From what I've seen being reported the US plan board ships trying to escape the blockade , if China's loses patience and their tankers tried to evade the blockade would the US board Chinese vessels ? , one tanker already tried to make the move but turned around I wonder how long Xi is willing to wait.
