Beyond what it's doing to the price and availability of petrol, if they keep screwing around at the straits, sooner or later someone is going to pop a tanker, and then the Gulf is going to have another Exxon Valdez incident on their hands.
War has a ridiculous amount of "collateral damage" built-in to it. Life would be a lot better if folks didn't keep on trying to blow each other up over insignificant bullshit... but that ain't human nature, apparently.
