That Addoncrop might be bundled with CRX Emulator, the one I downloaded was... so be cautious. It was redirecting my Google searches.
The Chrome Web Store page says CRX Emulator has about 400,000 users, a 4.7 rating from 1.2K ratings, is on version 1.0.4, and was updated August 10, 2025. The store also labels the publisher as having a good record with no history of violations.
So it appears relatively legitimate, but it also seems to interfere with certain searches.
I'm guessing Addoncrop uses CRX Emulator to operate in Chrome. Since Chrome restricts YouTube downloading, they probably inject scripts to bypass those limitations.
