"Extra" Dimensions are just that, dimensions, also known as measurements, and there is nothing extra about them. It is simply a coordinate system to measure and plot, things that exist in this world.
All objects in the real universe have dimensions, and if you want to construct things, you need the dimensions first. That is what a tape measure is for, measuring the first three dimensions of space. A clock measures the fourth dimension of time. Any more dimensions you add is from some aspect that exists here and now, not elsewhere.
Also, nothing exists in the form of a single dimension. You cannot have an object with duration and no width, height, and depth. Remove any dimension and the object ceases to exist. There are no other invisible worlds based on these dimensions, there is only this reality that can be measured by this system of measurement.
So, no beings from extra dimensions, no traveling in time without traveling in space, none of that nonsense is real. Good science fiction wouldn't even touch that extra-dimensional BS with a 10' 2X4 moving through time and space.
