Israel is a nuclear country. If Iran went straight for them, Iran would have been destroyed. Iran has been poking the bear for 50 years wanting a war with Israel. One they could blame on Israel. It's what their absurd religion demands. Now Iran has what it has wanted all along. It thinks the other Muslim nations are going to join them. But they won't.

What is the difference from one side poking the bear to the other side sending missiles/bombs into a populated city hitting schools and hospitals?
Iran is striking back with the threat of a nuclear strike being a reality, if it didn't stop them from retaliating now it would not have stopped them before this.
