Looks like the war with Iran is cooking off

There are positive signs, 

China is most displeased wth the disruption in shipping through the strait, China gets the majority of it's oil through there, the US not so much

 Getting a 47-year, 90-million-person Islamic authoritarian country to reverse course takes time. 

It's like an avalanche, it starts slow if some can hold thier water just a little longer, already a few Iranian diplomats and attaches have filed for asylum.

For perspective, the bellwether is,  

if and when Pahlavi returns, Uncle Sam won't allow it until there's a good chance for success 



Ayatollah Khomeini returned to Iran from exile (his final stop in Neauphle-le-Château near Paris, France) on February 1, 1979.From the start of the revolution in early January 1978 to his arrival:

• It took approximately 13 months (or roughly 1 year and 25 days).
  
• More precisely: From January 7/9, 1978, to February 1, 1979, that's about 390–392 days.
  

This period saw intensifying mass demonstrations, strikes (especially in late 1978), the Shah's flight into exile on January 16, 1979, and the revolution's climax with the monarchy's fall on February 11, 1979—just 10 days after Khomeini's return.

Important and decisive days lie ahead.

While you prepare yourselves for the final phase of the struggle, I emphasize that you should refrain from taking to the streets for now. Do not approach government, military, or law enforcement centers, nor the organizational housing affiliated with the apparatus of repression.

The Islamic Republic uses schools, mosques, and other public places to hide its repressive forces and create human shields. Stay away from such places for your own safety.

And my special message to government employees: Do not show up at your workplace under any circumstances. Do not sacrifice your life and security for the survival of the Islamic Republic. Do not allow yourselves to be used as human shields. Do not let your work and activities become a tool for the repression of your fellow compatriots. Use your facilities and access to disrupt the process of repression and to help the people.
