I don't think we're opting out mate we're just exercising our right not to get involved in someone else's fight , as America is doing with Ukraine , if Iran had committed a hostile act against our allies then no problem but words and retaliating against attacks on them is not that.
We are still busy aiding a Country fighting a common enemy , America has no interest in that so we are forced to buy weapons for Ukraine from the US who are unwilling to help us in that fight , seems like a one way street under this administration doesn't it.
We were America's puppy dog in their last adventure and paid the price only to get kicked by their current leadership accusing us of not doing much , in the words of the WHO , "Won't get fooled again"
The iran war is Netanjahus and Trumps idiocy ,and it does not make sense at all that UK would jump in it , specially now after hearing Trump wont appreciate how other countries were part of the coalition forces earlyer with soldiers dying in service .
