To my knowledge there are now two warships in service in the U.S Navy that have sunk another warship in combat: USS Charlotte (SSN 766) and USS Constitution (the one in Boston Harbor). I'm assuming the other IRIS sinkings were by aircraft, and Houthi boats don't count as warships.
For an idea of what things looked like onboard USS Charlotte during its attack on IRIS Dena, this Navy video shows some of the procedures to man battlestations and conduct a torpedo attack. This is for a submerged target but many of the steps are the same.

This report is now becoming a bit personal for me.
Not for reasons you may imagine. It's akin to the sinking of the "General Belgrano" during the Falklands War.
Really meant nothing to me as the Charlotte went about it's business.
So, because Australia, involved in the AUKUS treaty is interested in purchasing at least 3 Virginia Class subs there was an exchange of submariners/sailors with the US and Australia.
Now it has come to light that there were at least 2 trainee Aussie sailors on board that sub that sank the "unarmed" Iranian ship as reported by our media. And??? You may ask, what are you on about.... 'stubid' (amazing word first produced here on RN).
Well, broadcast here on the TV this day was "Australian Sailors involved in "War Crime". The braodcast went on about the US sub with at least "TWO" Aussie trainees on board sank an unarmed Iranian ship'
'Righto'= Aussie vernacular meaning BS - or - wheres the war crime. And why are these sailors now painted with this BS. Let alone their families.
'Righto' = Bring it on stubids (Not my word). How does media get away with this crap. No wonder our ex servicemen (me too) contemplate suicide. Media!!!! You are responsible to report not condemn.
