I just got all the free internet TV shows and movies to work on the Smart TV. YouTube, Tubi, Pluto, Google, and a few others, including a couple of pay services like Prime.
These free programs have apocalyptic survival movies, and TV shows up the wahzoo. There is also a ton of horror movies, paranormal ghost shows, and documentaries.
The thing is, it is cool to watch some classics like "Night of the Living Dead", "A Boy and His Dog" and "Damnation Alley", but that will get you to "The Road", "Book of Eli", and "I am Legend" before you get the same old story, but produced at ever lower values. These stories have run their course in my opinion, at least for me they have.
The 1983 movie, "The Day After" was the most realistic nuclear apocalypse film I ever saw. It even changed nuclear policy in Russia and the U.S. at the time.

Quote:More than 100 million people, in nearly 39 million households, watched the film when it first aired on November 20, 1983, on the ABC television network.[2][3][4] With a 46 rating and a 62% share of the viewing audience during the initial broadcast, the film was the seventh-highest-rated non-sports show until then, and in a 2009 Nielsen TV Ratings list was one of the highest-rated television films in US history.[4]
The film was broadcast on Soviet state television in 1987,[5] during the negotiations on Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. The producers demanded that the Russian translation conform to the original script and that the broadcast not be interrupted by commentary.[6]
