The first major casualty of the Mandelson saga has today "resigned" , Starmer's chief of staff Morgan McSweeney has either left or been fired from his job following Starmer's instance over the last few days that he had full confidence in him and he was going nowhere , wrong again Rodney.
I'm with Farage , if he hasn't gone by May he be gone after May 7th although I don't see how he survives until then.
Quote:'PM should follow McSweeney out the door': Opposition party leaders react to resignation
We've had some reaction from opposition parties to the news of Morgan McSweeney's resignation as Downing Street chief of staff following the Mandelson scandal.
Liberal Democrat deputy leader Daisy Cooper MP said: "The prime minister can change his advisers all he likes, but the buck stops with him.
"We need to see an end to this political soap opera, with answers for the British public and, most importantly, justice for the victims and survivors of Epstein and his network."
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage wrote on X: "As predicted McSweeney has gone. Labour are just continuing the chaos we saw under the Tories.
"My money says Starmer won't be far behind after Labour’s disaster in the elections this coming May."
