I never studied WWII history, but I'm fairly certain Russia was our ally that helped to defeat the bad guys. Somehow, in less than ten years after the war, they became the enemy in the 1950s - 80s Cold War. As a kid in the '70s and '80s, Russia scared the hell out of me with the threat of nuclear war.

Because of the Eastern European side of my family, with great-grandmother and great-grandfather, fresh off the boat, and my grandmother, the first generation in this country, I feel a strong connection to Russia. I'm sure an old Russian woman looks just like my beloved grandparents when they lived on the family farm here in the States.

I'd be happy to take a meal with a Russian family and celebrate Christmas with them, as they would not be much different from my own family. It would be nice to remember they were our family and friends who were on the same side as we were in WWII. It would be great to acknowledge their Christian heritage and think about good will toward men.

Europe needs to remember all that stuff. Of course, we came to the New World to get away from European life and make a better one here. The Old World Europeans are practically communists now, so why not come out of the closet and go dancing with the bear after drinking vodka (the good stuff). Socialism is just one small step away from communism, so just go for it already and stop pretending the people matter. Europe, go home like the prodigal son, and be welcomed by a hug from Great Mother Russia.

Nazi germany and Soviet union were allies , 1939 they both together slized Poland , and Poland ceased to excisting as country then . 

Nazis were just baddies also and betreyed them...so then they fight against each other....To be portrained later  as the great patriotic war in Russia and deny that that they agreed to form alliance .

Really difficult to undersand what you mean by " Christian heritage and think about good will toward men" 

They dont respect even their own citizens life, never had.....their official church is run by KGB / FSB , they destroy Ukrainian churches for fun , it is very far from any Christian heritage.

And your comment about Europeans ,  not sure are you trying to insult on purpose here. There are members here from Europe , including myself .

Finland was in to survival or die situation. There was no ideological alliance with Nazi Germany . Infact our jewish soldiers were in same frontline with Germans ,even had field synagoga on the forest....during Operation Barbarossa


Same time United States and Britain supported years britain dictatorship USSR & murderer Stalin helping it continue , and guess what , other smaller countries were in serious danger because USSR....the same that was supported by usa & britain .

Later Finland also officially asked USA to send military to Northern Finland, 1943  (occupation ) , but usa refused .

Earlyer before contiation war, Britain and France were seriously thinking about sending troops to help Finland against Soviet uniom, but the plan failed . Only some material help received . 

Oh and a lot earlyer, Russia conquered Finland ,and wanted russofication to happen .

You have any idea how big the red Army was back then ....
