Dec 2, 1963: Assistant Sec of Defense Steuart Pittman said, "the growing opinion of knowledgeable people that this country can prepare to survive any assault, even a large nuclear war."


His son, Steuart L. Pittman Jr. born 9/11/61 is a member of the Democratic Party, and has served as the chair of the Maryland Democratic Party since June 2025...because he was the only candidate on the ballot.

December 1, 2025, the Anne Arundel County Ethics Commission found that Pittman violated the county's ethics rules after writing about the results of the 2025  elections in the county's official newsletter. Wow, what a surprise.

“Third time is a strikeout,” Volke said. “It’s interesting to me that the chair of the Democratic party feels the best way to get his message out in terms of partisan politics is using county resources as opposed to the vast resources of the state party.”

Last month, Pittman and the party responded to the passage of Trump’s signature budget policy bill he has called the “Big Beautiful Bill.” The party press release renamed the bill using a bovine scatological term.

This week, the party fired off an angry retort to Trump’s comments about possibly calling up the National Guard and sending them to Baltimore as a crime enforcement measure.

The now-deleted post started with a F-bomb directed at the president and dismounted by referring to the president as a “sex pest with daddy issues.” The post was deleted from the party’s official account shortly after it was put up.

December 2, 1992: Matthew McConaughey made his first on-screen credited appearance during a Texas Most Wanted re-enactment segment in a season five episode of NBC’s "Unsolved Mysteries" with host Robert Stack. McConaughey was killed in the episode and the real shooter was caught 11 days later. One of my favorite series of the 90s.
