Hoover went out of his way to note that the Bureau had warned local police, on more than one occasion, of threats made against Oswald. Dallas Police Chief Jesse Curry supposedly told the FBI “adequate protection would be given” to Oswald, by now the most hated man in the world. As Hoover commented, "However, this was not done."

This is the key line in the memo:

"The thing I am concerned about, and so is Mr. Katzenbach [Acting Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach], is having something issued so we can convince the public that Oswald is the real assassin."

The whole Ukrainian peace proposal and European counterproposal strikes me as an interval between two acts of a play, a pause between two parts of a stage production because all 4 actors, Europe, Ukraine, Russia and the US are in significant transition. Whether Russia fights on or not things will be very unstable.

Like the other Trump ceasefires, Israel-Hamas (Gaza), Israel-Iran, India-Pakistan, Cambodia-Thailand, Rwanda-Congo, Egypt-Ethiopia, Serbia-Kosovo, Azerbaijan-Armenia the Ukraine-Russia ceasefire (if it happens) will be a downshift to lower gear.


Meanwhile, Trump just signed one of the biggest AI directives: The Genesis Mission — a Manhattan Project for AI. The Department of Energy will build a national AI platform on top of U.S. supercomputers and federal science data, train scientific foundation models, and run AI agents + robotic labs to automate experiments in biotech, critical materials, nuclear fission/fusion, space, quantum, and semiconductors,all at an accelerated pace.

Militarily, it could enhance national security via AI for simulations, predictive modeling, and defense innovations. Interesting project naming...
