The thing is, there should be no trouble at all in repatriating these Afghan nationals. Afghanistan is BEGGING their expats to repatriate and come home. There should be no trouble at all getting Afghanistan to take them back.
That brings us back to the European Convention on Human Rights mate , we can't send people back if their country isn't safe for them to be returned and NGOs based in France advise Afghans and others wanting to jump on the gravy train to claim they are gay or trans or victims of government torture and oppression which as we are not allowed to question their claims makes returning them illegal under the charter , one such Afghan chap once he was granted leave to remain was found to have gone on holiday to Afghanistan for a few months exposing just how ridiculous this is.
This is why sensible people want to either opt out of the convention or leave it completely , I support the latter position.
I must confess an ignorance of the specified convention. I was under the impression that it was 1) an EU convention, binding only on EU members, and 2) that the UK had exited the EU, making it null and void upon the UK. So, it's clear that I fail to understand the politics of the convention or any requirements for the UK to sit down and beg the EU for permissions regarding it.
