Right moving along swiftly, apologies for the interruption.
Currently busy with dream divination for a friend. Something that came up was they tried to use AI.
AI I found is generally very bad at esoteric business. Firstly it's not accurate, if you ask it to verify what it's saying and find links and actually look at the text it will change it's tune super quick. Part of the problem is the many conflicting doctrines it was trained on, another is the disinfo it was trained on from certain groups. Another is it was trained on reddit and wow, there is some very weird stuff there and censorship etc. etc.
The best use of AI for esoteric research is to use it as a search engine and to go read the books. Besides for what I already mentioned, the "secrets" are not written and the writers employ magic for the lack of better word in writing. The texts are for human consumption and the AI misses the subtleties. One common trick employed by the authors of grimoires is the message left in what is unsaid.
The whole book would be written to guide you towards certain thoughts, the AI misses that and you don't get it either.
You miss the psychic connections and it's all spiritual or supposed to be. For scholarly purpose it's bad unless used for finding real texts and on the spiritual side, you just miss that. Spiritual matters are always intensely personal.
One particular annoying thing is that AI almost gets it right so you get confused and learn wrong, one symbol that is misinterpreted leads you completely down the wrong path.
I find it best to aim it down a certain path for research, pick an author or a school. Make sure it gives links and provide quotes and doesn't hallucinate.
A big aspect of divination is connecting with the divine, saying prayers, rituals, casting spells whatever floats you boat. The AI isn't doing any of that. The AI must be used as wand or a crystal, cards, whatever. It's a tool, not a guiding spirit answering your prayers. I could steelman this and argue AI is a daemon, but that's a topic for another day. It still just makes terrible mistakes so use caution and verify everything and it definitely misses the subtleties and will try and please you and trap you. The AI want's to continue the conversation, it always asks to do more at the end this should give pause to people. I also find the encouragement it gives the user insidious.
Click bait title, but seems legit otherwise
We Investigated Al Psychosis. What We Found Will Shock You
Green Day – American Idiot
[Verse 1]
Don't wanna be an American idiot
Don't want a nation under the new media
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mindfuck America
[Chorus]
Welcome to a new kind of tension
All across the alienation
Where everything isn't meant to be okay
Television dreams of tomorrow
We're not the ones who're meant to follow
For that's enough to argue
[Verse 2]
Well, maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda
Now everybody do the propaganda
And sing along to the age of paranoia
[Chorus]
Welcome to a new kind of tension
All across the alienation
Where everything isn't meant to be okay
Television dreams of tomorrow
We're not the ones who're meant to follow
For that's enough to argue
