I can't really say - I can only speak for myself.
I have not had credit for 30 years now.
I have not had any bank accounts for 17 years now.
I don't care about participating in society "in any meaningful way", or in any other way at all. Society can take me or leave me, and likewise I can take it or leave it. Society will not miss me any more than I will miss it. I mean, seriously - just take a look at what society has become. WHY would anyone want to involve themselves in that mess?
When "RealID" was made "mandatory" in the US, I refused it. I've still not felt any pain over that decision.
When digital ID becomes mandatory in the US, I will likewise refuse that as well. I already know who I am, and the government already holds enough documentation on me to know who I am, despite the fact that they have told me on at least one occasion that they "don't know me". I'm good with that. Don't care if they know me or not, because I know me, and everyone who needs to already does as well. No one needs a yet deeper layer of documentation on me - I'm already documented to death. The government already holds those documents, so I see no reason I should have to hold them, too - isn't the government supposed to be a safe place to store your stuff?
I went for about 10 or 15 years with NO personal documentation in my possession at all - no driver's license or ID, no Social Security card, no birth certificate, no nothing. At no point during those years did I miss having it.... but that's a lot easier to do when you've done away with the credit card scams and banking scams.
As far as the "mark of the beast" goes, I care nary a bit about that, either. I'm not on the whole "mark of the beast", "tribulation" and "rapture" bandwagon. I've seen over 60 years of tribulation already - an additional 7 wouldn't make much difference to me. As for "rapture", God is gonna take those who are God's, and leave those who are not, whether a "rapture" happens or not. SO, I think it's best to be right with your God, much more so than worrying over how you're gonna be taken out of this world. Which exit you take is a lot less important than the destination you head for.
Therefore, while I think digital ID's are just more control measures of an already overbearingly bureaucratic government, they don't worry me personally at all. I'll just refuse it, and let the chips fall where they may when it's my turn. I came into this world naked, screaming, bald, toothless, and with no ID whatsoever, and I'm good with leaving it in the exact same condition.
