World war 2 veteran speaks out live on tv on his 100th birthday says the country is in a worse state now then it was when he was at war and says we fought for our freedoms now the UK is a mess poor man thank you for your service you hero we need more men like him proper men what a gentleman

So much has happened after WW2 , to worse .

Former SAS Officer and prospective London Mayoral candidate Ant Middleton says he wants to 'Grab Adil Ray By The Scruff Of The Neck' and throw him back in time to show him what Alec Penstone and his Brothers in Arms faced to protect our freedoms and the Sovereignty of our Country , our Hero's and their motivation to keep Britain safe and free seem to be a mystery to Mr Ray and his like.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Penstone reflected on Remembrance Sunday: “I see rows of white stones, friends who died—for what? The country now? No, it wasn’t worth it.”

Penstone joined the war effort at 15, first as an air raid messenger, then served on a submarine and HMS Campania during D-Day.

Asked to clarify, he said: “We fought for freedom, but now it’s worse than when I fought.”
Presenter Kate Garraway thanked him: “We’re grateful for your bravery. It’s our job to build the country you fought for.”

It is indeed our job to rebuild the country he and his Brothers fought to protect.
