I was surprised by the amount of comments of surprise rolling in at that Telegraph article about
the BBC's behaviour. People have always believed producing neutral information for the public
has some-sort of discipline of adhering to a truth. The reality is it's all about keeping one's job.
There's no requirement for ethical conduct in being a troubadour or actor. They just need to be
convincing in the role they play. News Reporters aren't born with the need to carry the beacon
of veracity, but they learn that having an alluring style of delivering content can promote their
careers.
Since a sense of being entertained with fictional material usually means a return by a consumer
to repeat that type of enjoyment, designing factual information in the same manner would make
sense if one perceived information as product. From that point, the slim boring beam of accuracy
becomes a slippery path.
Ironically, the same platform of announcement they hold sway on has also been used to convince
the public of how forthright Journalists are!!
There is a good reason certain news-delivering individuals are paid very well!

It's only an island if you look at it from the water.
